Stayed 20-27 Oct 2017 in a triple room. No problem arriving late (past 11pm) as long as you communicated this prior to your arrival. Eunsuk the manager left the details/access key (& simple gift) at the reception area and we checked in with no issues at all so thumbs up for that. We just provided my passport the following day to Eunsuk. ||Pros:|- excellent location. 4-5 mins walk to myeong-dong station (tip: if you have a luggage take exit 7). There’s ediya coffee and starbucks downstairs and very near to isaac toast.|- easy communication with the manager/Eunsuk via email for our late arrival. He is nice as well. He can help you carry your luggage.|- free breakfast. I saw there’s coffee, bread, spread, egg and juice - DIY style.|- water dispenser (hot/cold) available in each floor.|- small towels, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, tissues, hairdryer and room slippers provided.|- washing machine provided and free to use.|- ok to store your luggage upon checking out.|- cheap room rate.||CONS:|- no lift. The guesthouse occupies the 3rd-5th floor of the bldg. Our room is at the 5th floor (i think all triple rooms are in the same floor). So you need to take so many stairs on a daily basis. We avoid going back to take a short rest even if we are within myeongdong because of the stairs issue (unless its really really necessary).|- room is small. 3 pax + luggages + shopping loots = no more space to move around. |- bathroom is not that clean. the floor tiles are a bit slippery which i think was not cleaned/brushed enough.|- no room safe provided.|- bed is hard.|- housekeeping is done every 3 days and you need to inform them before 10am. Its a minimal cleaning - bed arrangement and vaccuum only. Bathroom cleaning not included.||OVERALL:|if you think the CONS are not an issue then this guesthouse is a good choice. But for me, i will book other accomodation next time as i need a lift, space and a clean bathroom is a...
Read moreOverall it was a very good stay for 3 nights in K-guesthouse Myeongdong 1. I had stayed in some other guesthouses in Korea and this is my best pick, another K-guesthouse in Nampodong, Busan is also very good. Location: 400m to exit 5 of Myeongdong station, 500m to airport bus stop, walking distance to Namdaemun market, Myeongdong shopping street and Namsan tower. Many cafes and eateries around. Room: I booked an economy double room. The room is bigger than other rooms I'd stayed at other guesthouse brands at same price range in Seoul. The bathroom is also bigger. Service: the managers are very nice and helpful, they replied my email quickly and answered anything before my stay. There is a phone at receptionist desk to call them free anytime you need. No water bottles in room but free drinking water dispenser in common area. Luggage storage service is free on check-in and check-out days.
Only con here is no elevator and narrow stairs but the manager will carry all luggage for you if...
Read morethe place is so simple that it is good for budget travellers. we were a bit disappointed with the place as the building doesn't have elevator which made it hard for us especially for our parents which are senior citizens to go up and down the building especially in carrying our luggage. the rooms are just small and simple. it consist of just a bed, tv and a comfort room. what i like in this place is that they provide branded shampoo and conditioner. breakfast is just simple, bread, egg and spread and you have to serve your own (i guess that's how koreans have their breakfast). their pantry is so small that it will tend to be crowded once guests from one to three rooms occupy the area. you can hear the noise from other rooms even the television playing. there was no cabinet available where you can put your clothes. the good thing about this place is it is near the myeongdong...
