We stay here for one night on Nov 30 2017. This place is a nice place to stay. The hosts are very nice and warm and I love their open kitchen system. They have prepared everything for us to eat, it's nice touch especially since it was our first day in Korea and we have no idea what to do. ||The house itself is very traditional, just like what I've seen in Korean variety show. They do have some experience service like tea ceremony, but unfortunate our schedule make us unable to experience that. But one thing that surprise me is that they have korean traditional game of Yut Nori and Jegi for us to use. It's definitely unexpected and of course I have to try them. ||We both are coming from tropical country and honestly I was a little doubtful about the ondol system that they have. It was -3 degree Celsius when we arrived and I thought we would feel cold during the night. But the heat system work well and bed was actually very comfortable. We sleep very well during the night and forgot about the cold.||I will definitely come back to this place again when I come back to Seoul. And will definitely try some...
Read moreThis was our second Hanok experience in the same area, both prebooked before we left home. We stayed in Pine 1 at about $134AUD per night. It is about 12m square with just enough room for a very old single bed (no bedding), the floor sleeping "double" bedding (like two doonas) and our two bags. Our designated bathroom was reached by walking through the tiny kitchen. There is NO separate sitting or eating area other than the small uncovered courtyard. The kitchen is tiny and only one, maybe two people could stand in it.||The website photos look fairly acurate, other the the one with lots of people sitting down to a meal together. There was nowhere for that. We had perfect weather and ate in the courtyard. I was told that in bad weather you eat on the floor in your room.||We left glad to have had the experience but needing a good nights sleep. We also left feeling embarrassed about our 20kg of luggage each. We must have been carrying as much cloathes and stuff as owned by the entire...
Read moreI've stayed in a hostel before, and while the moon house is a similar idea, I feel it was certainly a step up. The moon house is a beautiful home in the heart of Seoul near a number of different tourist attractions such as a cathedral across the street as well as Unhyeongung palace. The house/room I stayed in was very clean and warm. They also have a couple of ceremonies for a little extra that are worth trying: the tea ceremony, and the kimchi ceremony; I learned to make authentic kimchi. But my favorite part about the moon house was getting to know KyungAh and her mother, Eui Sook Yun (sorry if I didn't get that quite right). I had a lot of fun with you two, making kimchi, and dressing up in the traditional clothing. Thanks so much!||||The only issue I had was the internet was a little spotty. It only works in the kitchen and the garden. Also, it would be nice if there were a couple of universal electrical plugs so travelers from other countries could plug in/charge...
