I've stayed here in the past and really enjoyed the experience. The property is well-located on a quiet street in Myeongdong. It's close to tourist attractions, but there's still a true neighborhood feel. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and I loved sleeping on the futon. An elevator would have been nice, but stairs are healthier. The property was immaculately clean, and I loved the traditional feel. It felt like a true cultural experience.
I was excited to stay again, but had to cancel my stay at the last minute due to illness. At this point, there was supposed to be a fee involved. They were so lovely during my previous visit, I didn't mind paying because I didn't want them to lose money for the last-minute cancelation. As it turned out, they waived the fee. They didn't have to. They didn't need to.
This may have been a one time courtesy, so I hope no one reading this expects the same or tries to take advantage. In short, this is a solid, clean budget accommodation in a great location run by genuinely nice people. It will always be one of my...
Read moreLets start with the good: location! Opposite Myeongdong night market and next to its metro station, Eco House is a perfect way to access the city. That's pretty much the only positive, which explains why it is so affordable (which I guess is another positive?) Now for the drawbacks: we didn't even have a bed in our room. We were surprised to see a very thin matress in the corner of the room, so thin it could be folded up, TWICE! Along with that, we were given a thin sheet and a thin pillow. It was quite an uncomfortable 3 days of sleep here. Next, the bathroom smelt the entire time. There is definitely an issue with the drainage here. We requested it to be looked into, which it was, but to no avail. Considering the room and bathroom were very small, the smell took over the room, adding to the unpleasantness of our stay. Thankfully we were out and about all day every day, so we only had to bare the room at night. I'd advise fellow travellers to spend a bit extra and stay...
Read moreVery clean, very comfortable bed. Small compact space not ideal for more than 2 medium luggages. Secure. Located near shops, church, airport bus (7mins away), Subway stations ( 7-10mins away, but you wouldnt notice because of the many shops you get to see while walking). A budget hostel but worth the stay with very good location and helpful staff. Simple breakfast of coffee or tea, cereals, bread and spreads, boiled egg. Same everyday, then you wash your own dishes. Very efficient management of the whole place. I find it wholesome and acceptable for its price.||No bad experience, it's just that I preferred a bathroom whose shower is separate from the water closet and lavatory area. I dont like water splashed everywhere, and walking in wet floor. It dries up fast though and is wiped clean when requested. I still prefer it dry...
