The Myeongdong Metro Station, officially coded as Metro Station 424, is a busy public transport point where it seems to be very crowded at all time. As an exchange station (without direct transit, though) along the fourth Seoul metro line, you could go to the bustling Myeongdong market area, where you could experience the local South Korean shopping culture with all the hustle and craze encompassing through the atmosphere, or walk up the Namsan hill just east of the exits to relish the beauty of the skyline of Seoul, or hitch onto a brief ride, though you might prefer to walk, to the nearby Seoul Central Train Station connecting the major train lines (like Metro and KTX services) throughout the country, all in a stone's throw. Also, there is an underground market within the station, just out of the platforms, where you could get your hands on decent local goods, mostly sold by the friendly and polite locals, all at a rather reasonable price (if you are to consider and compare of those sold around the City Hall and Gangnam regions). All in all, Myeongdong Metro is definitely a must-go site, via the interconnecting trains underground, for anyone to be amazed by the vibrant local life here dazzled by radiating lights...
Read moreThis is the metro station that offers access to the Myeongdong shopping streets where you can pick up lots of cosmetic products, Korean fashion, try out Korean food sporting stores and enjoy Korean coffee culture. Myeongdong station is at the top of Myeongdong. Head towards exit number 5 and you will the largest uniqlo store when you climb to the ground level. Keep heading down the street and that is the south direction. There are major stores along the whole walking path. You will find the typical Korean large brands like Innisfree, Etude house, nature Republic, Primeria, Lineare, ABC sports, JD Sports and so on. There is even an Apple store along the path. After something like 6 blocks you come to a major intersection and there are a lots of food sellers going from left to right. Turn right and you will eventually see Myeongdong Cathedral. Turn left and you will eventually see lotte young plaza opposite the road and Zara to your left....
