I was not really a big fan of this place. Location wise was good, there's a lot of night life in hongdae and was easy to go back and forth. Room wise, my dad thought he got the Rooftop rooms and we ended up in the basement. The basement has 3 rooms and the room we were in was pretty small for 4 people. There's barely room to walk. It's about a 250sqft size not including bathroom. Bathroom situation was also not ideal. I understand that korea has low water pressure so you can't flush toliet paper down the toliet but it felt so unsanitary. Compare to the last place I stayed, that was never a problem. There's no separation between shower and toliet so water would just drain in the middle of the restroom which would explain some mold problems. Its quiet in comparison to the rest of hongdae and there's a Cafe right across the place. They also have umbrellas nearby for you to borrow. You do have to leave your shoes in the communal area when you get in. That's shared by the other rooms in...

The staff at the reception did not inform me about how to get from my basement to the place where breakfast is served in the morning. When I wrote to them, it took them around an hour to reply, by which time I had already left for the airport without breakfast. Although they eventually apologized and offered a small discount, they were unable to transfer it to me as I do not have a Korean bank account.
I understand that such misunderstandings may happen but then it is up to you, to solve it and make the other party satisified. One of the main reasons I chose this place was because they offered breakfast, which I needed due to my early departure for the airport. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory.

Read moreDue to an error on Agoda’s, my original accommodation was fully booked, and I had no choice but to check into this guesthouse at 10 PM. The location is decent—about a 5-minute walk from Exit 1 of Hongdae. I was assigned a double room right next to the main entrance. The room was quite small—only enough space to open one 26 inch luggage at a time. As for cleanliness, it wasn't as bad as some reviews claimed, though it's clear the facilities are quite old. The ac remote seemed to be running low on battery, which made adjusting the temperature difficult at first.
Sound insulation is indeed poor. You can clearly hear people coming in and out. However, the hot water worked fine.
If you're just looking for a cheap place to stay near Hongdae for one night, it's barely acceptable. But for more than that, I wouldn’t recommend it. Obviously you have more and...
