My visit to Yukmong in Hongdae was an absolute highlight of my trip. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was vibrant and authentically Korean. We ordered the pork set, and it did not disappoint. The quality of the meat was exceptional—incredibly fresh, well-marbled, and perfectly seasoned. The pork neck (항정살) was so tender and juicy, easily the best I've ever had.

What truly elevated the experience was the service. The staff were not only friendly but also very helpful, guiding us on how to grill each cut to perfection. The complimentary side dishes were delicious and constantly refilled. Everything, from the smoky, flavorful meat to the lively setting, was fantastic. We walked in for lunch and was shown to our seats immediately as it wasn’t busy, there were only 1 other table of guests beside us. We tried to order 100g of the pork belly etc and was told by the waitress that the min is 300g and she turned around immediately and walked away without even giving us a chance to change our order. Ok, we got her attention again to take our order. Everything was placed on the table, not a word was said by her. She just cooked and went about her other tasks then she cut up the pork and put along the sides of the grill and walked away until we asked if these were done, did she tell us yes. We ordered a beef set and the quality of the meat is fairly decent. However, the service leaves much to be desired and spoils the whole experience all together. The waitresses on the second floor tried to pull a fast one and make the patrons grill the meats themselves. I’ve observed throughout dinner that they only did this to tourists. Locals who are sat down automatically have their meats grilled for them without asking. When you requests for them to grill it for you, they do so unwillingly with an attitude and it’s so uncomfortable to continue dining.

This place has good reviews also because you get a free ramen if you post for them.

There’s good bbq everywhere in Korea. This place is not worth your time queuing and the price you pay.
