I stayed at The Cube Hotel in Seoul for 4 nights in February. Lets get one thing straight, this is NOT a hotel, its a hostel, thats one thing to keep in mind when booking. Ive stayed at many capsule style hotels/hostels in Japan so I already had a good idea of what to expect. Starting with positives, the location is great right near Myeongdong shopping street, Namsan Cable Cars and Namdaemun Markets. Its easily accessable from the Airport (take the express AREX to Seoul Station, change and take line 4 to Myeongdong, use exit 3). Basic breakfast is provided which was great to have before going out to explore the city. A Locker, slides/slippers, fridge for your own food and water filter is provided, plus laundry services for extra price. |Now onto the room, my bed was relatively comfortable but I never once got a good nights sleep. I was on the bottom bed, right next to the door. A combination or paper thin walls, my thin privacy curtain and the slamming of the door from inconsiderate roommates - AT ALL HOURS - kept me up most nights. The door automatically locks, but it doesnt shut very well. So quite often other guests wouldnt shut it properly and it would beep constantly until it decides to sing you a little song. Not pleasant at 2am. The best thing about not sleeping, is you dont have to worry about waking up, which comes in handy as one of the rules for the room is you cant set an alarm! If this is going to be a rule, supply an alternative way to wake up in the morning! There is not really space for your luggage in the room so you get to leave it by reception near the unlocked door, yeah no thanks! The room had very poor air circulation, it was hot, stuffy and most of the time smelt like sweat. So after not sleeping and now smelling weird from the room, best to take a shower. Id say the bathroom 90% of the time was soaking wet and covered in hair. The toilet floors were always wet (ah now I see why they give you those rubber slippers) and the cubicle is so small you hit your knees on the door when you sit down (and i am 5 foot 2). Not to mention the broken toilet seat. The 2 sinks that werent also broken, were also flooded with water and cover in hair most of the time. God forbid you try wash your face, youll have another guest shove their toothbrush under your face instead of waiting their turn. Showers are the same, always covered in water and the drains clogged with hair, makes me feel sick thinking about it. Temperature was very temperamental and the towels provided where the size of bath mats. Check out is before 11am but no one is at the desk until about 8am. So if you are like me and need to leave around 7am, good luck! There is no info supplied on early check out so I had to just leave! I have tried to contact them through Email, Expedia, Instagram and Phone. The phone number supplied on Expedia and Google is incorrect, unless you feel like practising your Korean with the poor man who answers. I then rang the number left on their Instagram, which just rang out. So overall its an "okay" place to stay. The location and price point is great, but overall experience and cleanliness leaves much to be desired. Wish I paid just a little extra and stay in an actual hotel. Wouldnt recommend The...
Read moreI recently stayed at The Cube Hotel, and it was a fantastic experience! The hotel offers a modern and comfortable stay, with clean and well-maintained rooms that cater to all your needs. One of the standout features for me was the thoughtful inclusion of a Muslim shower in the toilet. This small detail made a huge difference and showed how much they care about accommodating guests from diverse backgrounds. It’s rare to find this feature in many hotels, so it was greatly appreciated! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. The location of the hotel is also ideal, close to key attractions and easily accessible. For anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay, I highly recommend The Cube Hotel. Whether you’re traveling for leisure or business, this hotel ensures a...
