Casa Llimona Hotel Boutique — Hotel in Barcelona

I felt compelled to write a review about this gem of a hotel because I almost didn't book it based on the reviews on Tripadvisor. Lucky for me, I noticed that all the reviews here were like 5 years old, whereas the reviews on Expedia (which I used for the booking) were recent and exceptionally high. So glad I booked it... turns out the hotel was purchased a few years ago and the new owner has invested massively in the design and service - and it really shows. I spent 4 nights in early August with my wife and 13yo daughter and booked a Junior Suite. Staff was extremely welcoming but the killer was when we walked into the room - the room itself is beautiful - modern, minimalist - and then we opened the curtains to discover huge windows that give out to a massive private terrace. Shower is amazing too. Location of the hotel couldn't be any better. Staff were super kind and let us check in hours early because the room was ready. I can only say great things about this place, and if I ever go back through Barcelona again on vacation or business, I am staying here without any hesitation. (even if based on this review, it'll probably be booked out forever now 😅) I hope Tripadvisor removes the old reviews so that the new owner can be allowed to build the reputation that this...

This hotel is in a great spot, there is wonderful parking garage underneath where you can get a reservation ahead of time. There are great restuarants nearby, shopping nearby, taxi's nearby, everything you need is close. We had no idea how great the location was until we got there. Easy to drive to from the airport etc... ||The hotel itself is very basic and priced accordingly. We were comfortable and the room was clean. We felt safe, but noticed the front door was never really shut or locked, which I did think was odd. We also had to turn the key to lock ourselves in our rooms, this is different than what we are used to in the states. There are some cute things about this hotel, but unless you have the large suite at the front, don't expect a view, I think? If price and convenience are whgat you are looking for, this could be the place for you. There are many fancy and expensive hotels in Barcelona. This one is basic. If you want a killer value deal on Expedia with flight and hotel, this one might be perfect. We spent very little time in our room, out sight seeing and eating the amazing food in Barcelona, great restaurants...

For being in the heart of Eixmple; close to shopping,restaurants and the Sagrada familia. As much I loved the hotel itself the amenities were perfect, balcony,refrigerator and high ceilings. However,we had a snafu one night when I brought a guest to my room and even said hi to the receptionist walking in since you have to walk past them to leave and enter. I was awaken to police knocking on my door at 7am. Asking me in Spanish who I was??? And how many people are staying with me?? It was awful. I have never had such an awful experience. Found out that the front desk receptionist thought I was a thief,since she did not recognize me??! Even though I had a key to my own room? So she called the police saying she saw two thieves entering my room??!! When I just brought a guest. APPARENTLY no guests in any hotel in Spain. ||||The next day, the same lady thought it was very funny who had a Guest may I add about the the whole fiasco as I was checking out. Nonetheless, really did like this hotel,however if the staff were more up front of the do's and don'ts, maybe a sign or verbiage somewhere but don't embarrass your paying guests who are staying...
