Me and my friends went there to try Chinese food. It was our first time trying it so we were excited and came long way to find this restaurant. But unfortunately we were so disappointed. The guy serving was extremely unprofessional and rud. We sat there for 30 minutes but he wouldn't take our orders. We asked for a menu it took him so long to give us. After we finally got the menu he wouldn't take orders. We called him several times he said he is busy when the resturant was almost empty. We waited and called him again saying we were waiting so long and asked if we can at least get drinks. When we were ordered drinks he left in the middle of us ordering without taking our orders which was strange. At last we decided to leave. On our way out we asked for the manager but the waiter him self said he in charge. We told him that we are leaving not because we waited for so long but the fact that he was very rud unprofessional and very disrespectfull. He still wouldn't listen to us he was like you can leave I said I was busy. We wouldn't recommend this place to anyone especially foreigners. The food might be good unfortunately because of the waiters bad attitude we couldn't even taste it.
After that we went to another Chinese restaurant not far from there its called Sichuan bar and restaurant. Everything there is amazing the waiters the...
Read moreOutstanding, authentic Sichuan food. I live nearby and go here every week. Each time it feels like having a delicious banquet! Tastes just like the food I had at good restaurants in China. If you are used to Westernized Chinese foods maybe this is not the right place for you. But if you want good quality food with authentic flavors this is it!
I see some other reviews complain about the oil. Some Sichuan dishes like beef or fish may come in a stew that has a lot of oil, but that's how it is traditionally, the idea is that you take and eat the food, not the oil. If you don't want oil, the fish steam with soy sauce and ginger is healthy. For me, I always go for the traditional Sichuan style fish or beef dish.
I don't eat Chinese food anywhere else in this city because I am sensitive to MSG and almost all other Chinese places have MSG in their food. What I like the most is that the ingredients are high quality, they don't use commercial sauce or MSG.
The portion is large as the dishes are meant to be shared. The price is very good value given the quality of the ingredients. It is not the cheapest Chinese food you can find, but you get what you pay for. Being half Chinese from a family of restauranteurs for 3 generations, I saw what goes on and there is no way I will eat cheap Chinese food even if you pay...
Read moreFrom the outside, Restaurante Chengdu is easy to miss—nondescript and simple. But once inside, it’s warm and inviting, with a cozy ambiance that instantly sets you at ease. We made a reservation for three at 7:30 pm and were grateful for their flexibility when we called to adjust it. English speakers are welcome here, as they do have someone who can understand and assist.
After two weeks of traveling in Spain, my Asian palate was craving the familiar comfort of rice and flavorful Asian cuisine. This restaurant absolutely delivered. The dishes had distinct flavors—bold yet balanced. They served the fried rice first, which I loved since I prefer eating it alongside other dishes, not waiting for it to arrive later. Almost everything we ordered was fantastic, with the exception of the black truffle fried rice, which was just average.
We ordered six dishes, some drinks, and our bill came to about €104 for three people—great value. Our server, Natalie, was shy and soft-spoken but attentive and helpful throughout the meal.
After days of tapas, pintxos, Iberico ham, and paella, Chengdu was a delightful change of pace. A great find for those looking for a flavorful Asian escape in Barcelona. Highly...
