One of the worst cafés I’ve ever ever been to! it looks fancy and cute but the food was really bad and overpriced. I had an avocado toast but the “avocado” was a bought guacamole sauce which tasted like perfume. My friend’s carrot cake costed 6€ and tasted like a convenience product as well. She had a lotus latte and received warm milk with cookie pieces swimming at the surface so she couldn’t drink it. She tried to return it and get a normal coffee as she couldn’t drin it properly. The waiter started arguing, but after a time he got her a normal coffee and said that she has to pay for the Lotus latte. My friend didn’t understand why she had to pay for her drink that wasn’t drinkable, any other café would have replaced the drink, apologize and we would pay the coffee. For my understanding, this is part of a good service. To pay, we went inside and talk to the manager again, we were really respectful and tried to explain the situation in a nice way. The manager was so disrespectful, started arguing with us, slapped the bill on the table and said that it’s my friend’s fault if she doesn’t like the latte. I had to tell him to please talk in a more respectful way to us, just like we did. In the end, he was pissed off and we didn’t need pay the lotus latte (we paid more somehow anyways) If they were more professional and handled it differently from the beginning on, I wouldn’t write this review, but I’m so shocked and disappointed by the waiter’s AND especially the “manager’s” behaviour that we will not only never come again but I will leave this bad review here… Definitely don’t recommend!! If you want authentic coffee and food and friendly service for a good price, go...
Read moreI tried Al Sur Café on this location after more than 5 years that I went to their location in Born. I was disappointed today as well as before.
My issue before, same as today is the lack of information about their dishes on their menu.
This time I order the Greek Quinoa Bowl which by description had: “feta-vegetables-tzatziki-olive-lemon. When the bowl arrived the “vegetables” consisted in four cherry tomatoes. I called the waitress, which like any other untrained teenager working in the restaurant industry in Barcelona, had no customer skills. I try to clarified if the “ vegetables” in my 11 euros bowl refer to my 4 cherry tomatoes. The waitress had no reply to my comment, instead she went to the bar to gossip with the rest of the stuff about it.
My opinion about this place as before is that is not worth it to go. Misleading menu and very...
Read moreI visited Alsur Café and had a good experience overall. I ordered the empanadas, avocado toast, and a lotus cookie latte. The latte was excellent and definitely the highlight of the meal. I also appreciated that they offer non-dairy milk options, which is great for someone like me who is dairy intolerant. The avocado toast was a bit basic in flavor, though the pomegranate on top was a nice touch, and the empanadas were tasty and satisfying.
The staff were friendly and welcoming. It was quite busy when I visited, so the servers didn’t check in often, but that was understandable given the crowd and not something to complain about.
The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, making it a nice spot to enjoy a casual meal or coffee break. Overall, Alsur Café is a charming café with good food, great drinks, and a...
