Even one star is too much rate to give to this restaurant. We were a group of people visiting with reservations. We got some basic tapas and individual paella. The potato tapa tasted like they cooked it a day before and just heated up and served. All Google review photos shows they serving paella in an individual pan, but not for us. They cooked in a big pot and served on a plate. So the rice wasn't cooked evenly, and seafood paella was so fishy. The dessert ice cream tub was being served like a photo. On top of all this terrible food, the worst thing was a server. Since we were a group, we were on the second floor, the woman served us was so rude and dry from the beginning until the end. And she started to clean our table and brought the trash can out to throw away our left over paella with very rude attitude. Loudly throwing the plate and utensils. On our way out the front part of restaurant looked so peaceful with paella in a pan. I understand that group guest is a little hectic to serve, but isn't it good for restaurant to make a lot of profit in a short amount of time? Very disappointing!!

Restaurant Santa Anna is a serious restaurant with real gourmet food, even though it is located only 50 meters from the tourist trap, La Rambla. We had a seafood paella and crispy fried calamari for dinner. Both dishes were perfectly prepared and so delicious. The paella was much much better than the one we had at EL NACIONAL, it was definitely better than the the one we had at the overrated L'Arrosseria Xativa. The dinner was so delicious, so we decided to go back the next day for lunch. And we were so happy that we did it -- they offer daily set menu on Saturdays! A drink (Beer/Wine/Water) + Bread + First Course + Second Course + Dessert for only €18. And EVERYTHING tasted amazing! We enjoyed the meal so much, so we went back again on Sunday to try the different choices on the daily set menu. They kept the consistent quality, quantity and delicious taste. The black rice was so yummy. The pear in wine was a dessert of another world! These were the best three meals we had during the seven days in Barcelona. The ambience was pleasant and welcoming. The service was very professional and attentive.

đŸ«„ 0/5 — Extremely disappointing experience This was genuinely the first time I’ve ever gotten up and left a restaurant mid-meal. That should say a lot. From the moment we sat down, the service was confusing and rude. When the waiter brought the main dishes, he kept saying “Take your plate, take your plate” in a rushed and aggressive tone — we had no idea what he meant, and it felt like he was demanding something instead of simply asking who ordered what. There was zero professionalism, and the whole exchange was uncomfortable. As for the food, it was honestly tasteless and felt like something pulled from a convenience store shelf. No seasoning, no freshness, no care in preparation. I took one bite and immediately knew it wasn’t for me. I’ve never done this before, but I stopped eating, asked to pay, and left. A horrible experience from start to finish. Definitely won’t be returning, and I don’t recommend it to anyone looking for a decent meal or respectful service.

After a full day of walking around all over Barcelona, I was exhausted and hungry.

As a New Yorker, I’ve eaten just about everywhere—from trendy downtown restaurants to hole-in-the-wall gems. So when I say this dining experience stood out, I mean it.

Yes, the food was delicious. Yes, the atmosphere was charming. But what truly set this place apart was the service—and more specifically, Nes.

My waitress, Nes, was an absolute gem. Friendly and attentive, which makes a difference when you're an exhausted solo traveler. With her friendly spirit and warmth she made me feel accompanied and welcomed. The conversation was lovely and she anticipated my needs instinctively. "Another soda, more water, recommendations? ..." She delivered everything with a genuine smile that added an extra layer of warmth to the evening.

As for the food, every dish I ordered was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The croquetas are a must have and the octopus was layered with a lot of flavor.

The pacing of the meal was excellent, the drinks were crafted with care, and the overall vibe of the place made it feel both special and accessible—like a hidden gem you almost don’t want to share, but you know you have to.

I fell in love with Barcelona. I'll be going back soon and I look forward to "hanging out with Nes again in Santa Ana" because that's how she made me feel, like we were already old friends.

So yes, the meal was fantastic. But Nes? She’s the reason I’ll be coming back—and the reason I’m telling all my fellow New Yorkers: if you find yourself here, ask for her. You’ll...

They LIED even in a review response. So basically this was the restaurant response after letting the review: Hello,

We are both surprised and disappointed to read this review, especially considering what actually happened during your visit.

From the moment you arrived, our team treated you with kindness and checked in multiple times to make sure everything was okay. (THEY NEVER CAME TO SEE EVRITHING WAS OK NEVERTHELESS WHEN THE MAIN DISH ARRIVED THE OLD WAITER WAS VERY RUDE HE WAS CARRING THE PLATES AND KEPT DEMANDING TO TAKE OUR PLATES IN ORDER THAT HE PUT THE ONES HE WAS CARRING, WHAT KIND O SERVICE IS THAT).At no point did you express any complaints.(THERE WAS NO ONE TO COMPLAIN) In fact, when we asked if there was an issue(THEY NEVER ASKED, HE JUST TOOK OUT THE PAYMENT MACHINE), your companion clearly stated that everything was fine, but that you had to leave because you weren't feeling well and were in a hurry. (THAT IS SUCH A LIE MY COMPANION DIDN'T EVEN SPOKE A SINGLE WORD AND NO ONE ASKED WHY WE ARE LEAVING AND WHY WE DIDNT FINISH THE FOOD)

It's difficult to understand how one can describe the food as "tasteless" when almost nothing was eaten, as shown in the very photos you uploaded. (THE PHOTOS WERE TAKEN BEFORE WE TRIED THE FOOD, WE WEREN'T EVEN GONE LEAVE A REVIEW BUT THE ATTIUDE OF THE OLD WAITER AND NOW THIS FALSE REPOSNE TELLS ALOT)

We welcome constructive criticism, but we cannot support or accept reviews that misrepresent the truth. (YOU ARE THE ONES WHO...

I don’t think I’ve ever had a worse experience at a restaurant- I’m posting my first Google review so you can avoid this place. We went to this spot as it was close to our hotel, had pretty high reviews, and lots of variety on the menu. The sangria and garlic shrimp were nice, but that’s where it ended. We also ordered the chicken paella and a margherita pizza. Maybe it was my mistake for ordering pizza, but we’ve seen plenty in Spain so I thought it would be fine. Firstly, it was not a margherita pizza - no mozerella or basil, just melted cheese and black olives? The entire pizza was undercooked, making it chewy, and the sauce had no flavor at all. I struggled to finish even a slice. The paella was not great - the rice was cooked at least but it was soupy and quite oily. And half of the chicken was bones or fat so there wasn’t much meat you could eat. At this point in the meal, I was unimpressed but not too upset. That changed when our waiter, cleaning surrounding tables, completely covered our table in a cloud of cleaning spray as he sprayed the table next to us. We obviously couldn’t eat another bite after that, as I have no idea what chemicals were in that spray. We were incredibly disappointed as this was our last meal in Spain and it ended on such...
