Moka — Restaurant in Barcelona

My family and i stopped in for lunch while on holiday and were initially pleased with the service until the food arrived. I am a devout vegetarian and found a piece of meat in my paella after my second bite. I called the waiter over and showed him the piece of meat hoping to get a replacement or different entree. Instead, he grabbed the piece of meat out of my hand and walked away without saying anything. When he return he threw it on the ground and said it was mushroom and walked away. While I understand its difficult to hear that the kitchen made a mistake, there is no confusing a mushroom with meat for a vegetarian. He then started yelling across the restaurant in Spanish to the other waitress while waving his hand toward our table. At that moment the other waitress who could see what was happening started apologizing and asked what she could do. I said that I wanted the check and to get my family out of the restaurant. She came over and said she was unable to do anything about my meal and i still needed to pay for it even though I wasn't able to eat it. I asked for the number of the owner because I was told that the gentleman in question was the onsite manager and her hands were tied. It was extremely degrading and embarrassing to my family to be yelled at across the restaurant. There is no excuse for that behavior in front of a child. I paid for the bill in full and left the restaurant with the information for the owner. I've since attempted to reach out for contact twice but have had little success. I hate to leave a bad review for any restaurant but our interaction was terrible and I left hungry needing to go elsewhere for a meal I already paid for. Just not the ideal tourist...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Moka Restaurant and experiencing their culinary masterpiece: the Macaroni and Seafood dish. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance exuded an inviting and sophisticated atmosphere. The attentive and friendly staff made me feel right at home, setting the stage for a delightful dining experience.

The Macaroni and Seafood dish at Moka Restaurant surpassed all expectations. Served piping hot, the aroma alone was enough to whet my appetite. As I took my first bite, I was immediately captivated by the burst of flavors that danced on my palate.

The macaroni was cooked to perfection, retaining just the right amount of firmness. The combination of delicate, succulent seafood, including plump shrimp, tender mussels, and tender calamari, elevated the dish to new heights. Each bite was a heavenly marriage of flavors and textures.

The sauce that enveloped the macaroni and seafood was a testament to the chef's expertise. Rich and flavorful, it showcased a harmonious blend of herbs, spices, and a hint of tanginess that perfectly complemented the seafood. It was evident that great care had been taken to achieve the perfect...

Lovely atmosphere and nice welcome upon entering. The goat cheese and dried fruit salad in a balsamic dressing was very tasty. An option to add thin slices of sautéed chicken would have made it perfect. The paella was fair and the churros with chocolate were a very big disappointment. There was little flavoring in the churros (a bit of cinnamon would really help) but the biggest disappointment was the watery dipping chocolate. Obviously made with with skim milk, if not water instead of cream and insufficient chocolate, it put a very sad damper on our experience. Add to that the scowling waiter (who appeared to be the only one working the floor) who interrupted our conversation to sharply ask whether the bill had been addressed (to which my spouse moved quickly to remedy) then spend an amazingly long time to return to get the card. It wasn't until we rose from the table that he immediately reappeared. It was good to see that the restroom downstairs was nicely decorated and disappointing to see that the stalls...
