We stayed for one week in apartment A. The apartment is located across the street from the hotel which is centrally located in the old part of town and quite near all the main sights. It is very secure and we were comfortable leaving our valuables while we were away during the day although it had no safe. We wanted the apartment because we wanted the terrace to enjoy sitting out and kitchen to be able to prepare the occasional meal ourselves.||||Unfortunately the apartment does not quite live up to expectations. The building is composed of a number of floors of apartments all based around a central open space to which only two ground floor apartments have access. The terrace therefore is small and cramped and located within the interior of the building, in fact all the apartments seem to be located around it such that it is over looked by everyone. The furniture in the terrace is tired and worn and the bench was slightly unstable to sit on. The patch of sky we could see looking directly up the side of the apartments was uninspiring to say the least. Consequently we spent no time in the terrace and I would suggest most other guests would not either.||||The apartment was spacious but unfortunately due to the design of the building lacked a lot of natural light. The bed was comfortable however we found there was a lack of drawer space for clothes. The kitchen was reasonable and had all the utensils , a small hob and microwave & fridge. Wi-Fi was free and with a good signal speed and strength.||||The apartment was kept very clean by staff who were friendly and courteous but we did find a number of cockroaches during our stay which we think came in through a slight opening in the security shutters in the bedroom. The staff seem shocked when we informed them and I do think it may have been a one off occurrence. To be honest, we regretted not staying in the hotel and could not recommend the apartment to anyone except a family who need the extra space and wish to prepare...
Read moreThe best thing about Hotel Argantonio is the staff. They are very friendly and helpful. Our room must have been one of the older, smaller rooms with less charm and character than the others, but it probably reflected the lower price we paid. The breakfast was great with made to order espressos, fresh juices, fruit, pastries, and some cold cuts. In retrospect, I may have preferred a location that's closer to Mercado Central which is nearer to some of the tour sites, but Cadiz is a really small town and everything is within 10-15 minute walking distance. Monkey Bakery Cafe is right around the corner, as well as La Taperia -- two places we enjoyed, but there are numerous other...
Read moreLovely hotel in a great location. We stayed in the suite on the top (4th) floor, which was fantastic with a small private terrace, large well furnished room and a large bathroom. There were a few complimentary items and little note that were a nice touches. The main roof terrace was pleasant and surprisingly quiet. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Hotel was very clean and done out nicely. Did have slight trouble trying to book on their website; the payment page kept stalling, and when you went back or refreshed you had to start the whole booking from scratch, but managed it eventually. I would highly recommend this place and would definitely...
