Old building on a good spot of town. However it is on a non traffic street and there is no other opcion nearby than the coin parking meters sports. So the nearest you can park is some 800 meters away, and have too walk carrying all your stuff. Then you have to feed the meter or look for an expensive underground parking even farther away.||||It is clean, but by no means fit to hotel service. Elevator barely fits 2 people and a small bag, and you have to press the button all the way to your destination. Had room with nothing more than a vent window leading to a covered "center hole in the building" from wich nothing else than heat and noise from a ventilator came.||||The room was too hot and if you want A/C you have to place a deposit for the remote without wich you cannot operate it.||||The matresses and pillows are incased in a plastic coverall like the ones Hospitals use wich makes the incredibly hot. No more than 30 seconds on it and you are Dripping, Oh and the A/C remote deposit notice is on de room door... So get up, get dressed and go down the Horror Show Stairs or the Manualy operated Elevator, to the reception, with the 20€ and hope the guy is there, or wait till he comes back from shopping...||||Didnt sleep for one second, Went out the door very soon, (before the meter started again) and not going to come back. Ever.||||Pay 10€ more and get a decent stay. I've stayed for 15€ in places that would make some 4 star hotels jealous. 65€ with no breakfast for this is an abuse.||||And speaking of abuse, they booked my card the night BEFORE we came....
Read moreWe had agreed in advance that our bikes could be stored at Hostal San Francisco and were disappointed by the receptionist's reluctant attitude even when showing the written confirmation. The bedroom smelt musty and its only window looked out onto a closed dark central airway. The hostal IS well located - right in the centre of old Cadiz - and might be cheaper than other hotels in the area - but it's not a great experience. There's no breakfast in the hotel but lots of nearby options. We made a detour on our cycling holiday to go to Cadiz - and to be honest I'm not sure I'd go back. Jerez had much better hotels (e.g. Itaca) for the same price - and has lovely streets, bars & Sherry...
Read moreI stayed in this hotel about 10 years ago, the days before tripadivor, and now revisited. ||||The reception of the hostal has not changed at all, still the same deco but they do have lift now.||||The rooms have their private bath rooms (toilet/shower) and are clean with good "walk in wardrobe" style for luggage.||||The rooms are very dark and there is no natural daylight coming from the rooms in the courtyard, so do bring your alarm clock!||||The rooms are clean and location is perfect for exploring the old town. They also have parking but this can only be arranged at reception as you need to pick up a special pass to access the public parking....
