Hotel:||This was a fantastic Hotel that me and my Wife experienced whilst we spent in 3 days in Palma. The Hotel is modern, bright and very clean. It smelt lovely as well. Breakfast was plentiful with cooked food, meats and pastries fresh each day. Lovely way to start your days!||Room:||We stayed in Room 211 which was very modern looking and had a balcony that overlooked a lovely courtyard area (think its the garden on the apartment block opposite). The room was just the right size for a couple for 3 days and contained a modern, powerful shower and a bath. Decent wardrobe space as well. It had a TV with lots of channels. There was no kettle in the room for Tea/Coffee but this, along with Beer/Wine etc was available to purchase at the Bar by the Reception area. The room was cleaned each day and fresh towels were provided each day as well. ||On our last day (check out is 12) we were able to leave our suitcases etc in a secure area until we came back before the flight back. There is also large toilet/changing areas to change into your travelling clothes etc.||They will call a taxi to the Airport for you if you want, it arrived within 5 minutes and costs roughly 25 - 30 Euros and takes around 20 to 25 mins.||Staff:||The staff were all fantastic especially Lucas who gave us a few pointers on where to go, routes etc. Nothing was too much trouble.||Tips:||Buses:||Exit the Hotel, turn left, walk around 50 yards then turn right, head down the hill, crossover and there is a Bus Shelter. You can catch the Number 4 Bus straight into the centre of Palma. It is cash only and is 2 Euros each one way. The best stop to get off at is the opposite C&A by McDonalds which is at the top of the famous Paseo del Borne. Walk down here for lovely atmosphere, keep going and you will be at the Cathedral! You can back to the Hotel area by using the bus stop on the opposite side where you get off. The Bus will drop you back by the Bar Cafeteria Lepar (great snacks, coffee and beer can be found here!). Take a left of the bus, stay on that side, keep walking and you head back to the road you came down to get to the bus stop.||Walking:||Exit the Hotel, turn left, walk around 50 yards then turn right, head down the hill, crossover go passed the Bus Stop and take an immediate right, follow the road round (behind the big hotel on the left) and you will see the start of the port appear in front of you. You can either cross over or take left, simply keep walking towards the cathedral in the distance and within around 30 to 35 minutes you will be in the centre of Palma!||Castle||Take a right out of the Hotel, go for around 100 yards, take a right and then you will see what looks like 500 steps! Follow this trial (quite hilly) and you will end up at the castle. Its a breath-taking view of Palma and well worth the 4 Euros each to get in (tickets can be purchased in the car park to the left of the entrance!||This Hotel and its location were absolutely fantastic and I would definitely stay...
Read moreHotel Zurbarán in Palma de Mallorca is a good hotel. It's located in a very quiet area, in a street where there is hardly any traffic; an one way road actually. Albeit it's not close to the city center, it's well communicated by bus, the relevant stops being not far from the hotel. On foot it takes roundabout forty minutes to get to the center. It's a nice walk anyway. On the other hand it's neither far from the Plaza Gomila, which is the core of a Palma district called “El Terreno” where there is usually a lively atmosphere in the evening, particularly in summer.|The bedroom I was allocated is quite comfortable, especially the bed, whose mattress has got the right toughness to assure a good rest. Inside the room there is everything one may need. The table desk is by the way quite appropriate to get some work done. It has a nice view to an interior garden where one can breath peacefulness. The room is indeed rather calm, and just the voices of other guests in the corridor are heard from time to time, something which doesn't amount to a disturbing fact as it doesn't take place often, and at all at night.|The staff members are very kind and helpful, especially the ladies working in the breakfast room. In spite of that, the lady working at the front desk with whom I did the check-in requested me then to pay the price of my stay at the hotel, although it had already been paid upon booking. Similar facts are not rare in Spain, so one ought to pay much attention in such cases, particularly in the tourist field.|The breakfast is very good and abundant. There is a buffet with a great variety of food, and all products are of a high quality. Unfortunately, the music spoils the nice atmosphere that otherwise would reign there. Eating the breakfast there could be a pleasure if one's ears weren't hammered by disagreeable sounds.|In general the hotel is therefore a good one and not expensive. A negative point is perhaps the fact that nearly all the time there is an awful music on the ground floor. That's rather annoying when one is for instance at the bar or at the lobby. In any case, the hotel is a recommendable place to stay, but one must be aware of the...
