Situated at Pedlers street Galle fort. Its a small restaurant can accommodate 12-15 customers at a time. Bit congested but was not much crowded. They have rice, noodles, pasta, kottu and several other varieties as well. The restaurant is managed by a couple. Cash and card payments accepted. Very reasonable prices. We ordered lime punch and king coconut water. The lime punch was soo fresh and delicious. We ordered chicken kottu and mixed fried rice. Both tasted so delicious and fresh too. On time cooking so there will be a little late for serving. But wirth waiting. The mixed fried rice also consisted of fresh sea foods. The plate itself was so rich of ingredients. They served us a mutton gravy extra. Usually I don’t eat mutton because of the smell. But the gravy was superb and well mixed with kottu. The couple was so humble and taking extra care of the customers specially the gent who was in charge of taking orders and serving.

Fantastic little restaurant for lunch or dinner. All freshly cooked by an amazing lady chef... You must be patient as food is cooked freshly to your order and liking. The atmosphere of this place is authentic, calm and as there are only 6 double tables makes it you feel special 🥰 Service was excellent, food was exceptionally lush. I had seafood soup and Rice and Curry Calamari with extra Prawn Curry 🤤🤤 I have to say that this was my BEST meal during my Sri Lankan trip. I loved, I think brass, little decoration pressed into the floor.

Visited Punto Cafe in Mar 2025 for lunch and enjoyed the food thoroughly. Order 2 types of curry - the prawn curry and squid curry, and both curries had their unique flavours and went brilliantly with rice or the paratha koto ("flat bread"). Side dishes of local veggies and dhal were served too and went well with the curry and rice! It is a small outfit and can get a little warm and stuffy especially in the mid-day heat. But definitely a nice little hidden gem that I will re-visit if I am in Galle again.

family run relaxed place, sensational food had hoppers for breakfast and curries a couple of times the people were lovely too. My wife and had breakfast and dinner here yesterday and went back for breakfast again this morning. Sensational hoppers and string hoppers for breakfast along with roti. Accompanying dishes were all fabulous.

Prawn and vegetable curry dinner dishes were also delightful.

The dry chilli paste they make is a great accompaniment too. As someone else mentions these dishes aren't made with heaps of coconut milk which we enjoyed the style and flavours of.

The menu makes clear that these meals are cooked to order in a home style and suggest 15-20 minute waiting time at least.

The family are lovely and their 2 young boys great fun. We got to play with play-doh with Nawal while breakfast was being prepared and he kept all the customers entertained with his fun and games.

Miss out...

This place was suggested by a local family who reside in the heart of Dutch Fort, so naturally expected the service to be warm and friendly. However the belief was soon broken when I encountered a very rude staff (middle aged man) who was more concerned towards serving European guests!

At 7.30, the staff said that they already had 2 reservations for 8 o'clock and hence couldn't serve dinner. Immediately left the place due to such racial treatment and later passed by it, at 8.15 to see empty tables and barely 3 full ones.

After seeing the food pictures, no wonder this place wants to cater to Europeans (who may have a very little sense of the local cuisine), as they serve totally low quality food which has small serving sizes and does complete injustice to...
