AQUA Pizza — Restaurant in Galle

Definitely a place to go with family and friends if you're thinking of doing a night out. I'd suggest going in the night because the atmosphere is so much better (They open for both lunch and dinner). They have 3 seating area, one at the front of the house, a small secluded area near the connecting garden that seats 2 tables and a sizable outdoor area at the back of the restaurant.

I went with a party of 7 other people, we were sat at the back of the restaurant, under the open sky and hanging lights; it was just so very charming. Oh! and you get to see how your pizza being made if you sit at the back of the restaurant, how incredible. They have this huge wood fire oven at the back that cooks your pizza in literally 1 minute. The service was quick, they literally have you seated and fed in a jiffy!

They serve authentic Neapolitan pizza, so no thick doughy base here, lol. You can tell from the first bite that the flour they use for pizza is unlike any other pizzeria place that you have been to. If you are new to this Neapolitan pizza experience, I'd suggest you getting the Diavola, Puttanesca and the Parma. I have a high tolerance for spicy food so I ask a chili oil on the side to drizzle on top of my pizza.

Their price point is very reasonable in my opinion. You can never get pizza with quality ingredients for less than LK3 3,000 any where else....

If we could give two and half stars we would, because that is what we got a completely 50/50 experience. We can't complain about the ingredients or the service as both were great. However one of our pizzas was perfect and the other was pretty much incinerated. Both pizzas were definitely baked in a pizza oven but one of them should not have been served. Again the staff were really good (or at least as good as they could allowed to be), they acknowledged that the pizza was very burnt and gave us 10% off the bill but considering they charged nearly the same amount as service fee it was a little hollow. We had been really looking forward to eating here as we've been backpacking here on limited budget and decided to treat ourselves. It was really frustrating as the ingredients were fantastic and the non burnt pizza was delicious but nearly half of our meal (we were sharing pizzas, just as well) was calcified. I want to point out that the staff told us that they couldn't give us any more off the bill and were extremely courteous throughout. But as this is part of a small chain within Galle it did put us off celebrating our recent engagement in their fine dining restaurant next door. I really do hope that our was a unique experience as again the waiting staff and the produce are...
