Superb location facing the chapel bridge. It is located about 7 min walk from Lucerne train station via Rathaussteg bridge. I followed the direction provided by Google map, it brought me to the Brandgassli alley to go to the back alley where the HITrental main entrance located (with a room key dispenser machine). The challenge was to go through the uneven Unter der Egg stone-paved street and the staircase at Brandgassli alley with big luggages. So, my advice is to use the front entrance located beside the Restaurant Schiff to use the lift and go to floor zero (0) when you are carrying luggage bag and go to the back alley HITrental entrance collect your room key through the key dispenser. My unit was Venus which is located at level 1. The unit was clean. However, I am not aware that the unit is at low level and worse part it is facing the back alley. Firstly, units facing back alley has little privacy when you keep your window blind/curtain opened as the opposite units could see you easily. It is noisy sometimes when people walk past talking loudly at the back alley. Secondly, the restaurant staffs like to smoke at the back alley when they are taking breaks, the cigarette smoke could easily fill up your unit if the window is kept opened all the time. It is a very small unit to fit my family of 4. Nevertheless, it is still like a cozy home. Kitchen is quite complete with cooking utensils, microwave oven, dish washer, electric cooker, exhaust hood, coffee machine and refrigerator. Two power point adaptors were provided. Unfortunately, one of the two electric cooker was faulty. Clothes washer and dryer (2 units each) are located at level 2, complimentary for in-house guest. Overall, it is just OK for 2-night stay here but I would not recommend staying a level 1 units like Venus and Pluto as they are low level units facing the back alley.

Location is great and shower was good and hot. That's the good bits now the bad. The view out the window was neighbors windows across 4 metre alley. Room was the smallest we have ever stayed in. It stated it was 15 square meters, but I think that is an exaggeration. The room measured just over 3 metres by just under 3 and toilet shower less than 2. The shower / toilet room was so small you had to squeeze past the door then closing it to reach the toilet. The hand soap supplied smelt horrible. There was no where to hang towels so we dried them on luke warm radiators, had to do this as they charge for clean sheets or towels irrespective of the length of stay. The front door just missed the bed when opened. You had to get out of bed to turn off the light. There were no bedside lockers (no where they would fit anyway) and no sockets near the bed. They impose a 500 fine if the fire alarm goes off due to bad cooking. There is an extractor fan above cooking area but it seems to just blow back into the room. ( Didn't risk cooking, only had toast lightly done) Telly positioned on wall to right of bed angled towards foot of bed, need to be a contortionist to watch it. You had to get rid of your own rubbish round the corner before you leave. No master switch to turn hob off, this was dangerous as it was a modern one with a touch on off, it might have turned on accidently if you left a damp cloth on it. No where to drain dishes except on hob. Curtains cheapest of cheap. I could go on but I'm sure you get the drift. Other apartments in the building looked to be quite large.(from fire escape plan on back of door) I certainly will not be staying wit Hitrentals again and think I have been very generous in giving 2 star rating. The room should probably have been left as a broom cupboard as it might have been before.

The place is located centrally and very close to chapel bridge. It is 15 mins walk from Luzern station. Don’t expect to get room before 3pm. Hotel is facing the lake and if you get room facing lake - which I got- then you are lucky. We are family of 4 and got 1 bed room hall kitchen (1BHK). It was indeed spacious cause there were 2 beds in bedroom and the sofa in living room could be converted to bed. Don’t expect any assistance as this is not a typical hotel and all instructions for sofa bed to bed, garbage disposal, laundry etc are provided in room. It is worth every penny spent and well maintained room. We arrived by 9am but there was no staff available to keep luggage. Had to wait till 10 when staff arrived and assisted keeping the luggage till room is free. We returned by 3pm and followed the instructions to get room key - password is received in mail and hotel entrance is from Aft side and not front. Luckily there is small elevator which can tightly fit 3 people. Kitchen has got everything you need to prepare meals, hot plate, microwave are in good order. Laundry is provided on 2nd floor but you need to buy laundry powder. Garbage has to be disposed everyday and the bins are located at end of the building. Toilets/bathroom do not have any locking system from inside- believe this is common norm in Switzerland as all other stays had same thing. View from room is awesome and chape bridge can be seen part from lake. Excellent stay and loved this place.

We stayed 6 nights in July 2019. Very disappointing with HITrental Lucerne. The studio apartment did not have a window for ventilation. We were not informed about this when I called up more than a couple of times and spoke to the same lady. Only a balcony door. We could not leave the balcony door open at night because of the noise in the surrounding areas. We had to have the fan switched on all night with the balcony door closed. There is no air conditioning and coming back from day trips, the studio apartment was hot and the air was stiffly.

We paid for the facilities of washing machine and dryers. There are 2 washing machine and 2 dryers. As it was summer, there were a lot of guests staying at the apartments.

By the 3rd day, one washing machine and one dryer was not working . One of the guest mentioned he called up HITrental that night about 9pm and was told someone will come in the morning to fix it. I went to do my laundry in the evening and the washing machine was still not fixed. I sent an email to Daniel and he said he will speak to his boss. I sent another email the following day and I had no reply as to when the washing machine and dryer will be fixed. I called up HITrental and spoke to a lady, and she was abrupt and said she does not know when they will be fixed. As there was only one dryer working, there was a line of guests waiting to use the dryer as well. I had to wait till late at night to dry the clothes as others were in front of me to use the dryer. HITrental, this is very unprofessional. The company promptly takes our booking money on time, where is the promptness in fixing up facilities in the building when something is not working? We paid for the facilities as well and this is not OK.

Please have some common courtesy and treat your guests with respect. We will not stay at...
