This restaurant offers a stunning view over the Chapel Bridge and the river. The staff are incredibly friendly and cheerful. For the best recommendations, ask Lisa; she is impeccable.

I tried the burger of the month, which had a great taste but, with its variable stuffing, leaned more towards a fusion burger. If you prefer a classic burger, the cheeseburger with generous raclette cheese is an absolute delicacy. The bun is so good it deserves a poem. The fries are a must-try, especially if you’re not from Belgium. They are chunky, large-cut, well-crisped, and nicely seasoned.

My son and wife loved the chicken burger too.

Lastly, and most importantly, the beer. Ask Lisa for recommendations based on your favorite taste. We tried the number 9 and 12, a sour beer and a fruity beer, respectively. Both were exceptional.

We and booked a reservation for 9:30. We arrived early and were seated inside at our request. The waiter was very nice and took our order. We ordered and asked we be able to finish our starters before receiving our mains. The server said no problem. We were then brought our drinks and first starter right away. A few minutes later the server brought our second starter and our mains at same time. When we reminded him that we asked to bave mains after he informed us kitchen actually closed at 9:30 and the cooks wished to close and go home. This was never told to us when we ordered nor mentioned on the website. Had we been informed before or when we ordered we would have gone elsewhere. Bierliebe & Friends is a fantastic spot right by the river, perfectly located to enjoy both the food and the atmosphere of the city. The burgers are excellent, huge in size and full of flavor, served with crispy fries or sweet potato fries that are just as good.

The beer list is impressive, with plenty of local and international craft options on tap and by the bottle. It is the kind of place where you can always discover something new to try.
