Disappointing Experience – Poor Service and Disturbing Behaviour
Both the food and service were below average, which already made for a disappointing experience. What surprised me even more was being expected to provide a tip—for what, exactly?
The carbonara I ordered was a letdown. The speck was excessively fatty—I ended up leaving most of it—and the dish overall lacked flavour. To make matters worse, the Parmigiano was served in a salt shaker, which I had to open and sprinkle out slowly by hand. It felt careless, lazy, and far from what I’d expect at a restaurant of any standard.
What truly horrified me, however, was the behaviour of a waiter who seemed eager to rush us out and seat the next group. As I was leaving, he said, “Go home.” That comment was not only unprofessional—it was offensive. I understand that, in some parts of the world, people of colour may still be viewed through a prejudiced lens, particularly by certain generations. But working in the service industry demands restraint, maturity, and—above all—respect for every customer. Racist comments and behaviour have no place in any setting.
I also witnessed the same waiter completely ignore an entire family of colour waiting to be seated, which only reinforced my concerns.

In the 3 weeks we've been visiting Switzerland never once was I rushed out of a restaurant...until tonight. Everything was going well with the food/atmosphere. Our actual server was nothing short of amazing. We were about an hour into dining when it was 22:00 and it had hardly started to drizzle. That's when we had some random server continually walk past us telling us we were the last ones there, and that we need to hurry up bc of the pending rain (it never rained). All the while LITERALLY EVERY OTHER RESTAURANT IN PLAIN VIEW WAS STILL SERVING THEIR GUESTS. We eventually caved to his pressure and asked our server for a check to just avoid being completely uncomfortable. We walked around Luzern for another half hour and saw multiple other patrons happily being served outside at extremely close restaurants. AGAIN AVOID AT ALL COSTS. GO LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE TO HAVE A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE. IT'S EXPENSIVE AND WE FELT TOTALLY RUSHED. NOT WORTH IT.
Again my actual server did not do this. Just some other server we had no interaction with until he started rushing us to leave so he could go home early himself. It was the guy who only wears his glasses to read the checks to customers. I don't have any other way to descride him.

Read moreNormally I do not give 1 star to anybody but I am giving the same here because I was not happy at all with one of the waitresses treatment to us. I am not sure about the other staff here though. I came here with my family including my parents to have lunch by the lake side. When I placed the order, I initially ordered non-vegeterian and asked her to cancel as I forgot that was our veg day and ordered veg dishes instead. When she got our food, to muly utter dismay, she brought both the non vegetarian dishes I cancelled along with the vegetarian dishes. We were 4 and she brought us 8 dishes!!! Upon telling her that I cancelled the non vegetarian dishes, she started yet stating she would not take back the dishes and that I need to pay for them. She was protruding a racist behaviour. Next I called for her manager and explained the situation that she should have at least confirmed with us before bringing 8 dishes when she is looking at 4 of us only!!! Although I felt the manager was taking her side, I made it very clear that I am not going to pay for the food I would not eat. Anyway, we ate the food, paid and left. Very bad experience.
