Read moreThis is one of the newer hotels in this area. The check-in process is slightly confusing, because you have to self-check-in, and I don't think any of the front desk staff speak English. The rooms are slightly on the smaller side, but they are well furnished. The fire detector has a blue light that blinks throughout the night, but if you are not bothered by blinking lights, that shouldn't be a problem.
One of the things that I could not understand was the pizza and pasta restaurant next to the front desk. Who travels to Jiaoxi to eat pizza and pasta anyway? What I found even funnier is that every morning, this pizza and pasta restaurant turns into a Taiwanese breakfast buffet with almost no western breakfast menu. I felt bad for the restaurant staff, because they literally have to switch cuisine midday.
Other than the restaurant, the rest of the hotel is well worth the visit. Their rates are competitive, and their facilities are great as long as you speak Chinese. If you get hungry in the middle of the night, there is a FamilyMart just across a parking lot from the front entrance of the hotel that sells quite a variety of things.
If you need a quiet place to relax, soak in the tub, and you don't need a breakfast, this is a...
Read moreSecond stay at this nice newish hotel on the edge of the 'downtown' area. Rooms are a decent size, although those with 2 beds might be a bit cramped. Beds are a bit short for tall people.|The lack of water bottles ISN'T a problem (you get a sparkling water option at the dispenser). My criticisms include a lack of ice buckets still (raised this in 2023) - there's an ice machine but no way to carry ice, and there's no work desk or large enough place to use a laptop. Just a stupid narrow bench UNDER the TV! Some simple design fixes could have solved this.|Also you get a couch, but it's in the DARKEST possible place in the room. Some architectural decisions here were pathetic.|There's a "library" in building 2, but it closes 12-1pm (otherwise unmanned, so why close) and it has some weird power plugs. Worst of all is the constant background music - apparently it's piped to all the public areas. But WHY into a library where people might read or want to work quietly?|Rooms have their own hot spring tub.|If you can cope with these irritations, it's definitely worth checking out, and you can get decent discount deals. Easy walk into town, or to the hot springs park.|Front desk staff speak...
