a luxury buffet located on the second floor of the Caesar Park Hotel Taipei. The setting is elegant, with a spacious dining area and modern decor that gives a calm and comfortable atmosphere. It’s clearly positioned as a high-end buffet, and the price reflects that.
The food selection isn’t particularly extensive compared to other hotel buffets in the same price range, but most items are of acceptable to good quality. Hot dishes were kept warm and replenished regularly. The flavors leaned toward the subtle side — well-suited for those who prefer lighter seasoning.
However, the sashimi section was a letdown. The variety was limited, and the white fish sashimi had a strong fishy smell if consumed in larger quantities. I had seen reviews with photos of salmon sashimi, which was the main reason I chose this buffet. Sadly, there was no salmon sashimi available during my visit, which was extremely disappointing and felt misleading based on expectations set by previous reviews.
Service was polite and professional. Staff were attentive, clearing plates promptly and helping guests when needed. However, the pace at the food stations could have been faster during peak times.
If you’re looking for a quieter, more relaxed buffet experience with decent food quality and a luxury setting — and don’t mind the limited selection — it might be worth a visit. But if you’re coming specifically for the sashimi or expecting a wide variety, you may walk away a little...
Read moreAs far as buffets go in the Taipei area, Checkers seems to have a wider variety than most others I have been to, including the Hilton in Banqiao. The food quality was average, however, I found most dishes lacking flavor - nothing really stood out or seemed special to me. The staff was very attentive, the dining and service areas were very clean and well maintained. There is also beer and wine included which is nice. The prices are very reasonable and there are discounts available. It is cheaper to go on weekdays and during brunch hours. My family will definitely attend again as we all seemed to think it was a good deal for the price, wasn't crowded, and think the staff and...

Senior citizens aged 65 and above can enjoy a 35% discount on weekdays, which is a great deal. Regarding the food, most people value the seafood sashimi section in an all-you-can-eat restaurant. Although the variety is not extensive, the quality of the sashimi exceeded my expectations considering the price. Moreover, the chef in the sashimi section (who seems to be the head chef and is relatively older) is very particular about hygiene. He not only ensures that the chefs maintain hygiene during preparation but also warmly advises diners to separate raw and cooked foods, providing a reassuring sense of cleanliness.
Next is the highlight of this visit: the Wellington steak. I found it to be average, but a small tip is to ask the chef for thick slices, which improve the texture. The quality of the steak here is slightly better than that of typical all-you-can-eat steaks, so I recommend always asking for thick slices. Additionally, there is the Wellington ham, which I personally found to be quite ordinary.
Overall, the value for money is very high, and it's worth a try. Unlike most all-you-can-eat places that limit you to two hours, here you can dine leisurely from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM, making it a very pleasant experience. For more details, check out the following YouTube...
