Kilimani House — Hotel in Unguja

I love Kilimani House so much that I have already been a guest there 3 times. The hosts are incredibly welcoming, helpful and friendly. The place being on top of a hill, it is super quiet and has nice views. I enjoy a lot being in such a luscious environment and out of the village, and yet still just a few minutes away from the beach and the centre (when I am out at night, a ride by motorbike taxi and you are home in no time). Santos prepares the best breakfast I have had in Tanzania, bonus points for some of the fruits coming from their own garden! Juma will book you a taxi anytime you need, which is very convenient. I especially like the facts that the house is built integrating both local techniques and environmental-friendly techniques (such as the water tank), that they have built most of it by themselves and that you can see this is a family home, with the advantages of a couple by a local and an European (we get the best of both worlds) and an adorable little boy. Plus, during low season it is not a very hot place and you have a nice breeze.
