At Gate Hotel — Hotel in Chiang Mai Province

The bed comes with a topper, although the topper itself is also medium hard, but bed is consider comfy in Thail context. Their service staff is excellent, very helpful, even help me to order stuff using grab delivery. Also helped me to make calls to book massage because their phones in the room not able to call out.

I took the 2nd tier room, only because I wanted a bathtub, but the bath tub is terribly small, even for an Asian girl like.me. The water is also warm at best, no where hot. I ended using more like a bath soak for feet.

The balcony has a lot of pigeons in the morning, so depends if that appeals to you, I personally don't like it for hygiene reasons, although you can ask the housekeeping to clean it anytime. The worst thing is the lightning, if u need to do make up, u will need to take a mirror they provide and do it at the balcony, the lightning is way way too dim to do anything in front...

Decent hotel with very nicely decorated rooms and helpful staff. Complimentary mineral water is provided and renewed during the stay. However, to actually be an outstanding hotel that fully justifies the relatively high price, some of the small details that could make the stay special are missing. Why not offer a small (non-alcoholic) welcome drink? Why not make use of room scents in the common areas (corridors, ...)? After all, without those small details that make a stay special, the experience feels a bit empty. The architecture of the hotel is great (the balconies facing the inner courtyard are protected from city noise - although the many pigeons make sitting on the balcony a bit uncomfortable) and would certainly allow to create a relaxing atmosphere, if some small...

Located in the heart of the city where Tha Phae gate is in front of the hotel. You can find McDonald, 7-11, Booths, Miexue, massage shops, post office, drug stores, restaurants as well as cool local shops nearby. Very convenient and pretty much close to everywhere (10-15 mins to airport & Nimman area).
