We stayed at Lanna Thaphae Hotel for 7 nights. The location of this hotel was wonderful - very close to Thaphae gate, many restaurants, and street markets, but it still felt secluded and quiet which was very nice!
The staff was also very friendly. They greeted us every time we came in, they were helpful with any information we needed, and they even gave us small souvenirs during check out! A small but very thoughtful gesture that was very much appreciated. We loved the local Kalamae coconut candy at the counter and came back for them each night!
The rooms were clean each day to include the sheets and towels and the beds were comfortable. Water and coffee was provided complimentary each day and the cups were also cleaned daily.
Their breakfast was delicious! It was made to order every morning with fruit, toast, & coffee to start with and then you choose from eggs, sausage/ham, salad or cereal, and a hot plate choice. We chose their chicken Pad Thai almost every morning because it tasted so good! We actually enjoyed it more than the restaurant and street food pad Thai dishes we’ve tried. It was a great start to our long days in Chiang Mai!
We will definitely consider coming here again on our next trip...
Read moreI will preface this review by saying that this is in no way, shape, or form a 4-star hotel. They do not have a pool, a gym, or a functioning restaurant on premise, all of which are requirements for a 4-star facility. Then again, the price is nowhere near what you'd pay for a 4-star hotel, so that comes with the territory.
The staff mostly ignores guests which I kind of get because there is nothing they can offer in terms of amenity or service, and it still would have been nice if they’re more welcoming.
That said, the location can't be beat - it's a 3-minute walk from The Phae Gate and super central to everything but since it's a tiny side street, it's very quiet and conducive to a good night's sleep.
The rooms are well-appointed, the beds are comfortable and gigantic.
My biggest (and only, really) complaint is that during our 5-night stay, our sheets were changed twice and BOTH sets were very visibly stained which was very...
Read moreI and my wife stayed at Lanna Thaphae hotel. The driver from the airport had to ask someone nearby the hotel for the exact location as the hotel is off the main road. We checked in for 3 nights and had to take our own bags to our room as I think they do not have any concierge services. The room was big, neat and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. ||Breakfast is within a small area where fruit is brought to you and one writes the order on a printed paper what type of eggs you need etc. There are 2 types of cereals and juices with coffee, tea etc on a table. The waitress is efficient and brings to the table what is ordered. The room rate is reasonable considering the facilities offered. The staff are also very friendly.||The biggest advantage is the Thaphae gate is very close where so many eateries are there for lunch or dinner and the night market is only 10 mins walk away. ||I would not mind to stay there again on...
