At Home At Chiang Mai — Hotel in Chiang Mai Province

We were really pleasantly surprised by this hotel. I'd booked it last minute without the normal amount of research I put in, but it turned out to be great! The room was enormous, with a good sized bathroom and 2 small balconies. It was also exceptionally clean. The owners are very friendly but just generally leave you to get on with it- there's no restaurant/bar/tour service etc. Some people might see that as a downside, but personally that's how I like it in a city. The location is a big bonus. It's along the border of the old town (opposite the moat) about a 2 minute walk from the Thapae gate. Also, if you do stay here, please go to the Tiny Bar opposite (thats what its called, and it really is tiny) and say hello to Laa, from Tom and Emily. Stop and have a drink with her, she's hilarious and so friendly! Overall, we loved our stay here and would recommend it to anyone coming...

We decided in advance that part of our visit to Chiang Mai would be to try our different guest houses and hotels. This place fit our needs perfectly. ||We are vegetarians, and the guest house is very near quite a few restaurants where we could get vegetarian, vegan, or organic meals.||The managers were very friendly to us, and we also made friends with their small dog. The dog us so cute and friendly that police officers make a point to stop by and visit him.||We stayed in the smallest of the three categories of double rooms, but it felt large to us. ||They have very good desks for lap-top work. The wifi was consistently strong.||The facilities in the room overall are great, especially the bed and bathroom.
