This is a lovely hotel with really welcoming staff but I think that there is room for improvement.Firstly, I think it is important that they update their profiles on booking websites to avoid the same issues in the future. I was in desperate need of doing a clothes wash and I spent quite some time trying to find a place with the facilities to do it myself. It’s surprisingly hard to find out this information in almost any hotel but it was advertised on trip.com that happy house had a clothes dryer and on bluepillow that they had a washing machine. When I arrived I found out that they had neither, that they do not have even a dry cleaning service (though there is a sign for one) and they direct you to the nearest dry cleaners. While there is no problem with this in itself, I think it’s important to make this clear to customers before they book. As for my room, it was really clean and very cute but it had very little free space to put my stuff. I’m backpacking so I need a shelf or something to elevate my bags so that I can go through them. I think it would be optimal to change the room I had into a single room with a double bed and to push the bed to the side of the room to make space for a shelf of some sorts. A proper rack to hang clothes wouldn’t go astray either.Although I found myself slightly frustrated at the start of my stay I think that all in all I think it is deserving of good reviews, but constructive criticism from others could be useful for them to improve...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I are currently staying at the Thapae Happy House, originally we were only supposed to be staying 3 nights but extended by a further 4. Firstly the staff here really are lovely, so polite & accommodating. The hotel has a real boutique feel, so much attention to detail in the bedroom & bathrooms. Vanity packs including shampoo, tooth brush & body wash in the bathroom & bedroom decorated with greys & white in color. Very comfy bed, lovely little shower & the room is cleaned daily should you wish (just be sure to hang your sign outside the door) |Breakfast included and absolutely yummy. 5 choices to choose from, eggs cooked to perfection. The breakfast staff are so polite, the reception staff are so polite and accommodating too. 2 free bottles of water every day too which is a nice touch. We even had our laundry done (5kgs worth for 150baht!!) whilst we were here, just dropped it off to reception in evening and we it collected from the reception the following evening. Ironed & separated in to lights and dark! Very pleased :-) one last point, the hotels location is superb. 1 minute walk from Thapae Gate! We happily walked around at night and felt perfectly safe! Chiang Mai is a very special city!! Overall we loved this hidden gem - thank you to the staff for our unintended week long stay,...
Read moreThe owner and whole staff are very nice, polite and man oriented. They care about people here and not only about money. The room is basic, not as good looking as photo, but more like a guest house. Also I had to cancel my booking already after check in and the property kindly agreed to return me money, so I rate their customer relation very high. I wished to stay even. The main disadvantage as for the solo travelier for me: the safety box which is so light and not screwed to the wall, so anyone can easy pick the whole safety box and bring out of room. However I understand that fot many people such a thing is not a problem and as for combination of nice location, price and frienliness I will consider to stay here again. Also one huge disadvantage is that there is no electricity plug...
