I booked this hotel base on all the good Google reviews. Especially the guy who wrote âbook this place, youâll thank me laterâ.
Well, the last 6-7 reviewers must be completely deaf. There is nothing to thank except I couldnât get any sleep and left after one night.
This hotel may look nice with stylish designs but it has zero soundproofing of the room doors. Each room door has two panels (like a hinged closet door that swings out). Since the panel doors are light and open outwards, they offer zero noise insulation. The most peculiar part about the doors is an open lattice design at the very top of the doors that is completely open to the outside! It actually feels and sounds as if you are sleeping on a bed outside next to the road.
Also in the room (207) where I stayed on the 3rd floor, it doesnât have double paned windows. But there are two large dogs who lived in the house adjacent to the hotel and barked nonstop at 3 am.
Itâs beyond my understanding how anyone can sleep at this hotel. I booked two nights, stayed one and left. I literally got zero sleep. The traffic in front of this hotel does not stop, even with earplugs you can still hear the traffic all night long.
I also find it difficult dealing with whomever owns this property. I was downgraded to a smaller room because the bigger room I booked (205)was right in front of the busy road. I also left after one night, although I paid for two. I expected at least a full refund for one night, instead I received a partial refund.
If you are a light sleeper or sensitive to noise, this is not the place to stay. Even if you are immune to noise, bring earplugs, you can thank...

My recent stay at Hotel Verdigris was nothing short of disappointing. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with an air of rudeness from the staff. The owner, DEW, was especially disheartening to interact with. If you value your self-respect, steer clear of this establishment.
My ordeal began when I had a guest coming from a considerable distance to visit me in my room. To my dismay, upon her arrival, the staff flatly refused her entry. I was left with no choice but to compensate her for her taxi fare, a frustrating and unnecessary expense. When I questioned the receptionist about this policy, I received nothing but a cold explanation that it was their rule.
Moreover, the hotel itself felt less like a hospitality establishment and more like a rented home. Throughout my stay, I couldn't shake the feeling of confinement, as if I were trapped within its walls. To add insult to injury, the incessant buzzing of mosquitoes disturbed my sleep, making for an uncomfortable night.
The unprofessionalism of the staff, coupled with the lack of communication regarding their restrictive policies, left a sour taste in my mouth. DEW, if you happen to read this, please take note: treating your guests with respect should be paramount. And if your hotel has specific regulations, it's imperative to inform guests upon check-in.
In conclusion, my experience at Hotel Verdigris was regrettable, to say the least. I strongly advise against anyone subjecting themselves to such a...
Read moreWow, what a find this hotel was. We booked this hotel on short notice and were blown away by how helpful the staff were, the location and the hotel itself. The building and the rooms were exceptionally furnished and decorated. The pool was a welcome addition to this city centre hotel, particularly at this time of year, we used it a couple of times to cool down, both times we were the only guests in the pool and the staff brought out towels and chilled water for us. The rooms came with complimentary drinks, snacks and water, and at the end of each day we would get some special biscuits, tea and a personalised note about the following dayâs weather. The main stand out was the breakfast, weâve never had anything quite like it. We had an array of local restaurants to choose from including Michelin rated restaurants. We could order as much as we wanted- and we were always extremely full! They catered well for my wife who is vegetarian. On our last day, we had a late flight but they let us check out late and use the communal parts of the hotel for the rest of the day. They also helped to chase up our taxi to the airport who was significantly late. They honestly couldnât do more for us whilst we were there. |I canât say enough good things about this hotel- wish we could have...
