The hotel is generally neat and clean and seems to be a new construction. The room size is very small though that is not a major problem. The location of the hotel is not great. It is a bit far from the downtown (if you have to walk!). The hotel staff is atrocious. My father was unwell and we asked them around 8.30 PM whether we could at least warm some milk in their kitchen, but they flatly refused. There is nothing close by that one can arrange food from. Not allowing to do that is still okay if that's what the hotel policy is, but the way in which staff at a hotel reception would talk to a guest, and the way in which a police officer would talk to you should certainly be different! The guy at the reception in the evening was quite arrogant and spoke like he was doing us a favour by letting us stay in the hotel. Also, on the night on June 13, there was no staff at all to be seen at the reception. I had to go hunting for the staff at their doorsteps in one of the basement rooms (this was again around 8 PM) and apparently, they didn't even like that a guest was calling them for help! Lastly, my wife requested for two tea bags and they said they had run out of tea bags! Which hotel runs out of basic stuff like tea bags? Clearly, they didn't want to give us any! No help with the luggage in the morning during check out - DIY :) We had a very unpleasant experience with the staff. They set new threshold of...
Read moreLocated in Old Town, Phuket, Thailand, this boutique hotel is situated within the heart of old Phuket town. It is within walking distance of lots of local shops, especially the local eateries, many who have been there for decades. The hotel is built on an old house, with small, narrow frontage but is long and deep inside. The old style house, which is also found in Malacca and Penang across the border in Malaysia, has an air well in the middle of the house. This ancient traditional architecture facilities airflow in the house. The room we had was not large, but clean and organised. There was a fridge, water, safe deposit box and coffee making facilities, with coffee provided. The rooms are air conditioned and we had a balcony. The security system is quite good. The lobby is upstairs on the first floor. There are no lifts, and we were located on the 3rd floor, so climb the stairs we did. The staff are courteous and efficient. The guy who was at reception at the first floor lobby checked us in, took full payment up front, then helped lug the luggage upstairs, leaving the luggage at the room door and left quickly, so he was obviously not expecting to be tipped. Overall, a nice little hotel in a great location right in...
Read moreI stayed here one night to attend the Sunday Night Market and check out the Old Town's eating and drinking scene. This boutique hotel is in an excellent location for those who are looking to explore the Old Town neighborhood.||||The hotel is very stylish and has a lot of character. The room and bathroom were very clean, modern, and well-appointed. The linen, bedding, towels were in excellent condition. Unfortunately, the room was a bit small and did not have a water boiler for making tea/coffee. There were no English language channels on the television.||||The room had a central air conditioning system that did not work very well. The room was a bit on the warm side even when the thermostat was set at the lowest temperature. They obviously know about this problem as there is a tower-style portable fan on the floor in an already cramped room.||||There is no onsite parking, one must park on the street and I was lucky to find a parking spot a few hundred meters down the road.||||I booked the room directly with the hotel and paid 1000 THB for a Superior Room. I thought that this price was a bit high for the size of the room, etc. which is why I gave it three out...
