UPDATE: It‘s a disgrace that the owner doesn‘t take responsibility and tries it to look as if its my fault! The foodpoisining is 100% because of this restaurant. Diaherria and Vomitting started exactly 1 hour after eating here. Also the food tasted weird and gummy like. I‘m turkish and I know how it should taste.

Terrible Food poisoning after eating here!

I went to Numnum because it was the top-rated restaurant on Google in that area.The restaurant looked nice, and the staff was friendly, which initially gave me a good impression.

However, shortly after eating, I suffered from severe food poisoning. I was vomiting six times and had constant diarrhea throughout the evening. My body was completely dehydrated, and every time I took a sip of water, I threw up again. I felt so terrible that I had to go to the hospital, where I ended up paying 10,000 baht for treatment.

On top of that, I still feel sick and have lost 2 full days of my vacation because of this. While the restaurant’s atmosphere and service were good, food safety is the most important factor, and this place completely failed in that regard.

Imagine. I ate at around 6PM. Pain started at 7 and come back home from the hospital at 5AM.

And for all that I paid 1300 baht at the restaurant.

This place has a nice asthetic, but the air was made unbreathable from 2nd hand smoke from weed and cigarette from men chain smoking while playing a board game in the outdoor area, which is the best part of the restaurant. It's a great place for smokers and pot heads was the general impression; definitely not family friendly. The enclosed indoor area is cold and dark in comparison to the light bright outdoor area. The food was good but the portions were small for the amount charged. Additionally, the taste of the food was overpowered by the taste of 2nd-hand smoke and left an after taste in my mouth and airway. Gross! I had to brush my teeth to get it out. Although I had showered and dressed in clean clothes for the evening, I had to shower and put all clothes in dirty laundry because of the smoke. I wanted to like this place. EDIT : after seeing the restaurant's reply which has left me absolutely baffled. Nothing about my review is fake. I visited the restaurant today December 7th 2024 with my friend and had a late lunch around 4 pm. We ordered the mashed aubergine set, garlic bread and hummus. Because my aubergine dish was so bad I couldn't even eat it, we added french fries to the order. I am pretty sure these details will help you remember me.

I don't understand how this restaurant has a 4.9 rating. We went there trusting the reviews and left not only disappointed but also still hungry. My dish was so bad I barely touched my plate (even the rice was terrible) and they still charged me full price for it even after telling them how bad it was. They said they would pass on the information to the chef but as I literally ate almost nothing out of the dish, I would have appreciated even a small gesture from them.
