HEH Cafe & Resturant
Fusion cuisine, most of the options are seafood, but they also have few ‘meaty’ & vegetarian options.
Dinner for 2: 🐄 Pulled beef bao (109 THB) - pulled beef with cucumber & chili. simple but delicious, a bit dry. 2 bites, so you get a taste of it, but won’t feel you up.
🦆Confit duck bao (139 THB) - very juicy. Delicious. Very small, about 2 bits dish.
🍆 Eggplant (189 THB) - very soft, almost melting in the mouth. Tops with different nuts such as pumpkin seeds which adding crunchiness. Medium size, more like a side dish
🧀 Cheesy Cauliflower (199 THB) - bashmal sauce and caramelized cheese on top of half cauliflower. A bigger side dish, filling up.
🐔Mini whole chicken (419 THB) - comes with a nice sauce on the side, filled with rosemary which they light up before serving for smell & taste. Well cooked, crispy from the outside. Taste great.
🍰Black Forest cake (130/150 THB) - delicious. You taste both great chocolate & cherries.
2 Perrier bottles (160 THB)
1 Riesling wine bottle (1,750 THB)
Value for price - 3/5, some of the dishes feel a bit overpriced for the size, although the quality is high. They are adding 10% service charge to the bill at the end (not mentioned on the menu as far as I checked) Starts around 100-200 THB Mains are 400+ Desserts are 130-150 THB
Service - overall good service. Staff speak well English.
Atmosphere - open kitchen place, which is my favorite type of restaurants. BUT the kitchen is very noisy, which makes it very difficult to have a normal conversation if you sit close. It will be good if the staff will train to be less noisy - in most open kitchen resturant the staff is aware and paying more attention instead of trowing away cutlery and plates.
Parking - there is a parking lot not so far from the resturant, so no issues with finding parking.
Great place for romantic dinner or meeting with friends. Overall I would recommend this place, and would be happy to come back and try...
Read moreWas cycling by this Aussie concept restaurant themed around ‘bringing Melbourne to the Adaman’ the other day. A staff member was kind enough to come outside and explain the restaurant concept to me. It peaked my curiosity and after eating exclusively Thai cuisine (my favourite) the past days, thought I’d give HEH a go with a couple of glasses of wine and an appie. Opted for the prawn tacos (B229 / about $6.70) and it didn’t disappoint in terms of flavour, freshness and promptness of serving. My only mild criticism would be on the wine serving side - a request to taste produced hardly enough to make a sound judgement and staff wanted to mix an already opened bottle that was near the end of its shelf live with a new one. Wine here is poured using a scale, which points to some stinginess. But the newly opened Kiwi Red was great and the follow-up Chilean cab was acceptable. (Having lived more than a decade in the region I always request a taster as many establishments just don’t store their wine correctly). Reds by the glass are in the $10+ region, which is fine compared to N. American prices and taking into account extortion Thai import duties. All in all a pleasant experience. Oh and some tempting dishes on the menu were unavailable - including the signature Aussie dish Barramundi (charcoal grilled whole - B899 / about $26); charcoal grilled fillet of fish; peri peri chicken; and Australian Wagyu short ribs - M B1499; B 1699 ($43-$50) even though the night was young and the restaurant not busy (restaurants in war zones I’ve worked manage to maintain a full menu most of the time - just saying!). But even though the sampling size and time spent was relatively minimal this time, the efficiency, friendliness and professionalism of the staff made the biggest impression. My...

5 out of 5 stars - Exceptional Contemporary Australian Dining Experience in Phuket!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Heh restaurant in Phuket, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The menu boasts a variety of unique and exciting dishes that showcase the chef's talent and creativity.
One of the standout dishes was the surprisingly delicious dry aged white fish sashimi. The fish was incredibly fresh and had a unique flavor profile that I had never tasted before. It was a true delight for the senses.
The charred broccoli, eggplant, and cheesy cauliflower were also absolute standouts. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the textures were spot on. These dishes are a must-try for any vegetable lover.
For the meat lovers, the short ribs are a must. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the potato puree was so silky smooth that it melted in my mouth.
The cozy atmosphere of the restaurant added to the overall dining experience. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, and they made us feel right at home.
To top it all off, the restaurant surprised my partner with a complimentary cheesecake for his birthday. The cheesecake was incredibly soft and delicious, and it was a thoughtful touch that made the evening even more special.
Overall, I highly recommend Heh restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional contemporary Australian dining experience in Phuket. The food, atmosphere, and service are all top-notch, and it's a dining experience that I won't...
