Firstly, I must start by saying the setting is stunning. Two of others shared the pineapple fish curry with a portion of rice each. We had a lot of restaurants to try so we only got one dish to share but the restaurant recommended two as they said it wouldn't be filling and typically another dish is had that will balance well with the curry as it is quite a spicy dish. The pineapple and curry were a great combination of tangy and spicy. It was quite a spicy dish but I like spicy food. Also, the fish was beautiful, cooked perfectly and very meaty. I would recommend having this with a sweeter tasting dish to contrast well with the flavours. Try to go to this restaurant with many people so you can order a lot of dishes to try them, but keep the cost down if you are on a budget as the dishes are quite costly. The price matched the experience so I was happy. The only addition I would make is having some more vegetables in the curry as there was pineapple and a bit of fish, but a lot of watery curry so we weren't sure what to do with the rest of it. I drank the rest using a spoon,...
Read moreWe are from UK and Belgium. Booked at Charm dining gallery with 2 dear friends from Dubai, of which one is Malaysian. We got a nice table upstairs, the house is charming indeed. Staff did not seem very well trained. Our waiter spoke little English. We ordered several starters, which were rather average. The main dishes came out at the same time as the starters. When I made a comment, the waiter said they were full and they just cooked it all at once. Many dishes on the menu have Malaysian influence, so my Malaysian friend perfectly fit to judge. She ordered the fish curry but said she wasn't terribly impressed, yes it was spicy but lacked more flavour. I ordered a prawn dish with stinky beans which appeared one of the best choices. The pad krapao was nice, massaman curry and fried rice with Char Sui also rather average. Overall none of us walked away feeling like we found a 4,7star gem. Maybe we are spoiled with the quality restaurants where we live, on the other hand we have a very basic local restaurant near our hotel in Patong that serves food ...
Read moreThe setting is this quaint thai house, with grandma's cutlery and wooden antique furniture. Perfect for an upscale meal.
Fantastic thai food. Incredible sauces. We had ordered the following:
Coconut salad - 15/10 - the most incredible vegetarian dish I have ever had - tastes like a spicy Indian chaat
Fried Pork Ribs - 8/10 - soft ribs - great sauce
Pork Belly - 9/10 - incredible sauce - try with sticky rice
Tiger Prawns - 12/10 - the green sauce is beautiful - made with fresh green chilies, lime - reminded me of this sauce from my childhood which is served in eastern central India with mirchi bhajiyas
Chicken Curry with rice - 9/10 - Not so subtle flavors of kaffir lime with soft chicken and rice - comfort food
Crab Cakes - 7/10 - These were good - but given how high performing the rest of the menu was, they got screwed in the Bell Curve :D
Things to skip - Beer - I had a Singha and it made me feel unnecessarily full. Drink before or after - try not to drink...
