I had the pleasure of eating at Nila located in Amari Hotel Bangkok and it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable experiences I’ve had in the city when it comes to Indian cuisine. The restaurant features coastal Indian flavors, especially from places like Goa. It’s not your typical Indian restaurant, but that’s what made it so interesting. The place had a warm, relaxed vibe which was apparent from the moment I walked in. There were colorful tiles and warm lighting which made it feel like stepping into a traditional house from old Goa. It also has an open-kitchen which added on to the dining experience. The first dish that I started the day with was the Peri Peri Jheenga which were flame grilled prawns and they came out hot and smoky, with just the right amount of spice and charred flavor. After that I had the Truffle Madras Curry Chop, and it had this deep curry flavor which paired really well with the rich and tender chop. After those 2 appetizers I tried their mains, and out of all the mains, the Kasundi Murgh stood out. Its grilled chicken with Bengali mustard marinade was both spicy and tangy and cooked to perfection. I also had the Meen Pollichattu, a red snapper wrapped in banana leaf and grilled. The fish had a soft texture and carried a wonderful aroma which highlighted all the herbs and spices it was made with. The next meal was the Kosha Mangsho, a slow cooked lamb dish presented with a thick gravy. This was one of the more comforting dishes which would be perfect when eaten with some naan. The Chicken Rezala was a creamy dish with a subtle spice and a rich texture which highlighted the flavor profile really well. I decided to pair this dish with the Hyderabadi Dum Biryani with prawns and it turned out to be quite a delicious combo. The biryani itself came in a sealed pot which was then lit on fire to reveal the biryani within it which was quite an enjoyable sight to see. For the sides we got the Malabar Paratha and Appam. The paratha was absolutely amazing! The crispiness and flakiness of the paratha made anything it was paired with taste so much better and in contrast to the crispiness of the paratha the Appam had a soft, velvety texture which was also delicious. For dessert, I tried their Goan Chocolate Rum Ball, which was rich, dark, and boozy in the best way, and the Filter Kapi Misu, which had a distinct coffee flavor with a smooth texture. It was a fun Indian twist on tiramisu. Their drinks were great as well. The Coastal Weaver, which was light and citrusy went well with all the dishes I had. The Coconut Kulukki Sharabath Fizz was more on the sweeter side but despite that it was so refreshing and had delicious tropical flavors. The drink I would recommend most though was the Nila Sour, which had a nice balance of sweet and sour. Overall, Nila is creative, flavorful, and full of charm. If you’re looking for something different in Bangkok with bold tastes and a beautiful setting, this place is definitely worth...

We had the pleasure of visiting Nila Indian Restaurant in Bangkok recently, and it was an experience that exceeded all our expectations.

The moment we stepped into Nila, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The staff, led by the talented chef, created an inviting and welcoming atmosphere that instantly made us feel at home. The chef's personal touch and attention to detail added an extra layer of care to our dining experience.

Nila offers a culinary journey through the flavors of India, presenting a delightful selection of dishes that are both authentic and innovative. From traditional favorites to innovative creations, every item on the menu is a masterpiece.

The tender pieces of chicken were infused with spices and the rich flavors of the sauce, creating a heavenly combination and pomegranate yogurt created a burst of flavors that left me craving for more.

The team at Nila was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. The chef's personal touch, as he visited the tables to greet guests and inquire about their satisfaction, added a personal and heartfelt touch that made the experience truly special.

Overall, the combination of delicious and unique menu options, warm hospitality, and the chef's personal touch create an exceptional dining experience.

A heartfelt thank you to the chef and the entire team at Nila for creating such a wonderful dining experience. Your passion for Indian cuisine shines through in every dish, and I am grateful for the opportunity to savor the flavors you have crafted...

I recently visited NILA at Amari Bangkok Hotel and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. I was served by Ravi who has recently moved from Myanmar and started working in Bangkok. His service was outstanding. He was warm, attentive and took the time to explain the menu recommending the Chicken Rezala with a medium spice level which turned out to be perfect for my taste.

The experience began with a refreshing welcome drink of fresh sparkling pineapple and a bite of phal dhokla, which I tried for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed. While waiting for my meal, I was served papad with three dips: a sweet date sauce, a mild yogurt sauce and a spicy chutney each adding a unique flavour to the wait.

The Chicken Rezala was served with saffron-coated paratha, soft and warm, pairing beautifully with the dish. I also ordered the Chicken Hyderabadi Biryani, which was fragrant, well-spiced and cooked perfectly.

The food was delicious, but it was Ravi’s genuine hospitality and his thoughtful recommendations that made the evening memorable. It’s always inspiring to see someone who has recently moved to a new country embrace their work with such warmth and dedication.

Highly recommend visiting NILA if you’re looking for refined Indian...
