After a week’s stay in Bangkok, I had to check out at 1 pm from my hotel, and as I had a late evening departure from BKK, I wanted an inexpensive place for a few hours where I could keep my bags, change clothes, take a shower and lie down a bit. So I booked the Florida for a one-night stay at the bargain price of 28 EUR (and actually didn’t even spend the night).||||The hotel might look dire from the outside, and it sure is a remnant of the 1970s, but it is still a solid choice for anyone who needs a place to stay the night before an early flight. The hotel is located right next to Phaya Thai station, and you’ll be on the airport train platform within three minutes.||||I checked in at 1:25 pm. The hotel seemed quiet, the lobby was empty and a bit dark – as if the hustle and bustle of Bangkok had suddenly vanished. The receptionist was friendly and spoke some English – not much, but we got by. I got my room immediately. No key deposit was required.||||The room was of good size. While it was definitely outdated, everything was clean and tidy and nothing was broken. There were two single beds, a bit hard, a desk & chair as well as a coffe table & chair. There was efficient and quiet A/C, and two hotel-branded 0.5 L water bottles were provided. There was a fridge, but no safe. Charging your devices was easy, there were sockets behind the bedside table was well as next to the desk (both at floor level). Wifi was free and fast, but limited to one decive only. I didn’t ask for a second wifi code, perhaps they would have provided that on request.||||The bathroom came with a bathtub and a handheld shower, but the hose was short so showering was a bit difficult. The water was lukewarm at best – okay for showering, but don’t plan on taking a hot bath. Water pressure was adequate. Soap bars and a minibottle of hotel-branded shampoo were provided.||||I was happy to find a swimming pool in the small backyard. While the pool wasn’t huge, it was quite adequate and the water temperature was pleasant. Bring a towel from your room.||||There is a restaurant, too, but I didn’t try it.||||By European standards, I would rate this hotel at 2.5 stars. For the price I paid, I definitely got value for money so in its own category, I would say the hotel did really well. Just don’t expect the Ritz. I wouldn’t hesitate to book the Florida again if I need a place to stay before my flight. I would happily spend the night here, too, but for a longer stay, I would look for a hotel that offers...
Read moreJuly 2025. We booked a 3 night stay at this hotel, due to it's connectivity and extremely close proximity to the Phaya Thai Airport Rail Link and BTS Line. Check-in was hassle free and did not require a deposit, we were given a room on the 2nd floor. The room was large and had 2 large single beds, with an adequately cold air conditioner which could be adjusted to suit your personal temperature preference. The room's mini bar fridge was adequately sized and sufficiently cold. The table top flat screen TV has access to a large variety of local and international digital channel content. Bathroom amenities were clean and adequate with a bathtub and shower with good adjustable hot water temperature and pressure. Dining amenities in the immediate vicinity include the very popular Factory Coffee Cafe, Jae Kai Isan food - beside CP tower (for dinner / supper), 7-11 convience store (CP tower), Puau Coffee booth and walkway food vendors beside CP tower for breakfast and lunch options (refer to my Google reviews for the aforementioned eateries.) Hotel check-out was a hassle- free quick process. The entire staff at the hotel were courteous, diligent and very attentive. I will definitely choose this hotel on my next...
Read moreEXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE SLEEPING EXPERIENCE CAUSE OF OUTSIDE VEHICLE NOISE AND NON SOUNDPROOFED ROOMS.
DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU TO STAY HERE, READ BELOW PROS & CONS
Pros: Clean room, room cleaning done everyday Bathtub works great AC works great Right outside a BTS and airport rail link to suvarnaboomi airport So many restaurants and malls are just walk or 1/2 railway stations away Got a decent pool
CONS The road facing rooms are not sound proof as the hotel lies near a intersection signal, the sound of vehicles will haunt your sleep all night, we stayed for 4 nights and the level of noise from outside into the room was extremely uncomfortable and disturbed us all night.
The room has mosquito, I don't know how it entered, but we encountered minimal amount of mosquitos biting which caused discomfort
Finally: I will not recommend you stay in the main road facing rooms at all, u can't sleep at night peacefully, if you're assigned to a road facing room, immediately ask a replacement room with quieter atmosphere.
I've also shared a video of how much sound the outside road produces to give a glimpse of what you'll hear...
