Self-service hotel!
Liked · -The beds were comfortable to sleep in. -5 minutes walk to central MBK/Siam mall area. -Good to just crash in for like a night's stay and no more.
Disliked · -The entire experience with this hotel was quite odd and confusing. The reception is located on the 8th floor. There was no one at the door to help us up to the lobby and we had to manage by ourselves. -The room were missing basic amenities like hand wash, toothbrush though there was a bathtub. Again, there was a kettle and cups but no teabags and sugar. When I tried to call reception, I realized there was no telephone line. It was a nuisance to go up and down every-time we needed to confirm something. I called them up using the number in the additional room menu from my own phone, and asked them if they could bring the sugar and teabags, but their reply was: "Please come to reception and get it yourself here." -The AC's setting was super cold. I put it on 27 degrees but it was still cold. Got a sore throat the morning after. -The hand basin would leak with water every-time I used it. Also, every-time I opened the door to shower room, it would hit the ceiling bulb and make a noise. The design is lacking and so is maintenance. -The alley to the hotel stank of drain and sewage. -Breakfast was pricey for the limited menu. -Even when returning to the airport ( we booked airport taxi), no-one came to help us with luggages. -I noticed they had free souvenir section and asked if we could get one, but the setup was that if we rated the hotel 5 stars and showed to the staffs for verification, only then we would get a free souvenir (worth 200 Baht). I mean did they think of us as so fickle to the point of buttering up the ratings just for a 200 baht or even less souvenir? That was some cheap marketing!
P.S: Better to find another hotel in the same rate. Not worth the...
Read moreA simple, fuss free stay at the hotel. Even though it is a local brand, the hotel is clean and they always provide good cleaning service.
Room type - economy (probably the smallest one).
Room: very neat and clean. I am personally a Platinum Elite member in Marriott and I can say with confidence that the team cleans up the room very well - well enough that I can commend the team on a job well done. They make sure all the trash is thrown out daily, very meticulous cleaning and the toilet is always neatly tidied up. Although it is a bit small it is as they advertised on Agoda and it is what I get. So no complaints here.
Service: because this is a 3 star hotel, there is not much extra service to speak of. Basic service such as requesting for items from front desk and helping to hold luggage is also very profesionally handled. I really appreciate these basic services. Front desk also helped me to check in early when there was a room available even though it was a bit earlier than the check in time at 3PM which I appreciate. Also they provide water/top up amenities daily which is something I really appreciate also.
Location: what you see is what you get. It is an okay walk to the BTS and if you are lazy you can always take a cab/bike in.
Final comments: this is a very valuable hotel for what I paid and I genuinely enjoyed my stay here because of how clean and neat they keep the room. Maybe they can include a mug for toothbrush but thats just a small request. Please note ultimately this is like a business hotel and folks who are here for holidays should have an expectation as such. The team is really friendly and please dont abuse them or have an unrealistic expectation of what you think you deserve.
Note: I didnt even know they gave free stuff for review - can I still claim...
Read moreDo not stay here! Management questions; Why is the reception on the 8th floor no one to welcome you on arrival ground floor just a notice telling you to go up to 8th? I had to direct new arrivals to reception as they wondered around the car park. Why is there no safe in the room? Now we’re having to carry around our passports. Why there no tea or coffee available when a kettle & tea cup have been provided? Why are there sockets in the ceiling you cannot reach? Why are all main and side lights either on or off at the same time? Except for the vanity mirror light which is the only one controlled independently? Why does the tv not have any English channels? Why if there is a balcony you have to climb out of a 4ft tall window to access it? My partner bumped his head. There is an ashtray attached to the wall so you obviously intended for it to be used. Why is there no shade or umbrellas or towels on the roof pool? Also there was noise from the corridor due to the lack of any sound proofing, you can see the light coming in from under the door and hear slamming of doors. The corridor is an echo chamber even low level talking can be heard across the corridor. Why is there no telephone in the room so we can contact you if we have issues? Like we did instead we would have to physically come up to the 8th floor.
We have spent 2+ months in Bangkok in this price range and all have catered...
