The hotel is ranked 3 stars it should be one or none even. The blankets were dirty with spots on them still with some crusts. the drawers were broken, the french window doors were not closing properly and extremely. the curtains were not hung properly. one of the bedside lamps was not working same for the room lobby light. No phone service in the rooms (the telephone was there, all sticky but no tonality) the tv was not working (a small broken box was there with half of the buttons missing, and no single channel is there, let alone a remote)I can go on and on and on. And i swear i'm not exaggerating. One and only thing positive i could say about this hotel is how nice and helpful the reception people and all the hotel employees were and that I guess is true for all tunisian people in general. Internet wifi was free in the lobby area so at least that was there. I went through all the reviews and I was extremely surprised how people cld like this hotel, seriously !!! i was even angry coz i relied on those same reviews to accept such a transit hotel by tunisair. So either this hotel has reallly deteriorated since their reviews or its only lies or maybe we are speaking about a different hotel, coz the one and only el oumara at rue ali darghouth looks like to be an abandonned property. Please people be objective and honest in your reviews other are...
Read moreI’m being generous in giving 2 stars. Bathroom is very old and so is the heating system. Showering gets quite complicated. Staff is NOT great, part from one lady working at reception. First guy at check in was completely unhelpful giving instructions and info on hotel and town. Then we asked for one shampoo and had to wait about 45 mins to then get a shower gel instead. Eventually at breakfast the waiter was EXTREMELY RUDE and made us feel very uncomfortable. We wanted to finish our sandwich in the car as the driver arrived and in front of other hotel guests sitting in the restaurant he screamed at us treating us like criminal and forcing us to sit down to finish it. In my entire life I’ve never experience such an uncomfortable situation and nobody has ever spoken to me like this. We were two young girls on a visit in Tunis and the fact that a man shouted in this was chasing us to the door entrance is something I really do not want to experience anymore. So if you are a group of girls traveling you might want to think twice before booking because there is a VERY STRONG misogynist component here. Only the lady at the reception was able to understand us and offered later on a snack box but this does not excuse the lack of respect. Thankfully we only...
