Golf Royal Hotel — Hotel in Tunis

On our arrival, we received lemonade as a refreshment. The staff were extremely kind, friendly and helpful at reception and breakfast room. Securities were also very kind.|The room was a nice size. It wasn't 100% clean if you properly check the floor. Even though you get a cleaner daily. It seemed, it was not even hovered.|The bedsheets and pillow cases smelled like domestos everyday, which bothered us to sleep. I think they use lots of bleach but not fabric conditioner.|People were probably smoking in the rooms and smoking was also allowed in the bar so we were smelling it from the 5th floor.|Breakfast was good enough. There were same things every day but it was enough for us so I can't complain.|The location was perfect, close to the restaurants and old town(medina). It was also very safe as there were so many police officers around 24hrs.|Reception contacted me when they couldn't see us until 8pm. It was very nice of them that they cared about us as we were two ladies.|Overall we were satisfied with our stay. Average experience.

Breakfast & security staff - very friendly and helpful

Desk staff - rude.

Upon check-in I was told the room number, asked to pay and not shown the room or even which direction to go. I forgot the room the number and asked again and the manager at the desk said " oh let me write it for you as it's difficult!". Totally rude, and even if a joke which it wasn't, this isn't how you welcome your guests.

There is a busy bar on ground floor that played loud music that can be heard on the 6th floor until around midnight, no double glazing means you have to listen to the music until it stops.

There's no parking due to a police barrier for some reasons so taxis have difficult collecting and dropping off.

The local area is close to some sites but it's also the ref light zone at night and tons of tourist scammers approaching you for money etc so be warned if you stay here.

Room was clean, a bit cold and the shower faces your face not down which is a bit odd.

Overall a poor experience.

Breakfast was pretty good though and the staff at breakfast were helpful and polite.

Stay somewhere else, you can get better for the same...
