Hotel Broken Column — Hotel in Fatih

The Hotel was old and slightly run down but the room was kept clean by daily house keepers and there was hot water 24/7, the air conditioner was of a very good standard and kept our room at a very comfortable temperature as the outside heat was 27c. The roof top breakfast was a credit to the hotel and the view was amazing. My reason for the 1 * review is a strong one, in that the daytime front desk concierge (Emra) ripped us off. He organised a people carrier to transfer us to the airport for our journey home. We pre-paid him 1700tl which we were told was the full price to be paid for the taxi. On pick up, a completely different taxi turned up. On arrival at the airport the driver insisted we pay him 1000tl for the journey. We explained we had already paid 1700tl to the hotel for the service. After a long heated discussion and police almost being called to assist with the dispute, the driver called the Broken Column Hotel night staff to find out what was going on. It was confirmed that we had all been conned by Emra and that the cab driver would now have to drive 50 minutes back to the hotel to be paid by them. This was an extremely disappointing end to our holiday and what would have been a lovely stay at the Broken Column Hotel. The rest of the staff at the hotel were absolutely fantastic, and let down only by this one person. We only wonder how many other people he has done this to; especially as people don't have time to go back to the hotel and dispute this as they are about to catch a flight, and so most people probably just pay the money. First and foremost, I want to express my intense anger and outrage towards my appalling experience at this utterly pathetic hotel. I cannot fathom how to adequately describe the abysmal treatment I received from the staff. They were an utterly unprofessional bunch who had no clue how to interact with guests.

From the moment I arrived at the hotel, the staff showed complete disregard for my instructions or needs. They ignored me as if I were a burden, as if I didn't deserve their attention. I was subjected to constant neglect and condescension, which is completely unacceptable.

Furthermore, the rooms in this hotel are incredibly cramped and uncomfortable. There is hardly any space to move around, and the furniture is old and dilapidated. There is no attention to providing basic amenities, and the cleanliness is appalling. I felt like I was in a small prison cell rather than a luxurious hotel.

Moreover, I have never in my life seen a hotel of such abysmal quality. I have traveled to numerous hotels around the world, but this experience was by far the worst. I cannot believe how an establishment claiming to be a hotel can provide services of such deplorable quality.

In summary, if you wish to experience frustration and deep disappointment, then this hotel is the perfect choice for you. It is nothing but a wretched experience that should be quickly forgotten and avoided...

My recent experience at this hotel was nothing short of a nightmare. The rooms were shockingly dirty, with visible stains and a pervasive odor that suggested a complete lack of cleaning. The service was deplorable – the staff displayed a remarkable indifference to guest needs, seemingly more interested in socializing amongst themselves than attending to patrons.

Maintenance was clearly not a priority, evident in broken amenities and an overall shabby appearance. What added insult to injury was the staff's disrespectful attitude; they not only dismissed complaints but had the audacity to suggest that a clean room was a luxury reserved for those willing to pay more.

The ambiance was far from inviting; instead, it felt like stepping into a neglected, haunted establishment with flickering lights and an unsettling atmosphere. My advice: steer clear of this dismal excuse for a hotel unless you enjoy subjecting yourself to an utterly...
