It was my first time in a Turkish Hamam and the experience was...a-ma-zing! First I got to relax in the sauna. Usually a sauna is not my cup of tea but this one felt different. The temperature and the humidity was just perfect for me. They also poured some oils on the coals that felt them immediately healing my sinuses. Then I got to the hamam area, where Ayşe (did I spell it right?) bathed me with warm water, salt, honey and foam that made my skin soooo smooth! Even now, 3 days later, my skin feels like a baby's :) The whole ritual was so pampering and healing at the same time. Soft massage and bath from heads to toe - and all in my privacy and peace. Finally, we moved to the massage area, where I asked her to focus on my legs, because they were hurting and swollen after a whole week of long walks. And she did just perfect! It was exactly as soft and hard as it should be! Not too soft to not feel you are having a massage but not too hard to be in pain either. It was like she could feel the pain on my muscles herself and she used the exact pressure I needed, as if she knew it! JUST PERFECT! And the final ending: a long face and head massage, out of this world! The overall experience was so amazing, I cannot wait when I will visit Istanbul again and book my next appointment there! The first night I slept like a baby and the next day I was sooo relaxed that I didn't even want to leave my bed :D On top of all these, they gifted me my personal massage glove to take home and a face mask. 20stars out of 10!!!! The Mevlana Spa was close to my hotel - ideal short walk after massage & Hamam. I was a first timer at the Hamam and was guided through the process by Brenda - a very capable, confident and professional experience followed. The Hamam experience began with a vigorous but enjoyable scub while lying on the warmed marble slab. Left my skin pleasantly tingling before luxuriating in the foam bubble bath. Gentle hands massaged in the fragrant oils before the warm water rinsing, and drying off. Next came the Massage room - pleasantly warmed, low relaxing lighting and soft background music. Again a professional, firm and enjoyable experience. Brenda found all the sore spots and gently eased them away. After dressing, I was invited to sit for tea, water and a small snack. The smiling staff were engaging in their conversation and seemed happy in providing a wonderful experience....

So, I went a second time a week later too ! This time with Aisha. Again a wonderful and relaxing time. A slightly more vigorous scrubbing this time (again pleasant tingling after), and drfiting off during the relaxing foam bath.

The massage was again performed professionally and I left feeling wonderful and glad to have made Mevlana my 'local' whilst staying in Sultanamet.

We went in for a massage in the morning (date 22 April 2024), the guy at the reception was absolute rude. I was told earlier by the other receptionist that he will provide a discount for two people but the new guy was not interested at all. He took us out on the road to discuss and give more details. He was not sure of the different massage types. We had to leave for airport the same day in the afternoon and we were told by the other receptionist that we can get a good discount and an appointment but the new guy just messed it up. We were forced to go to other hamam the last moment which was not nice experience. Will not recommend this place, if they tell you they will give you the best price/discount, dont trust them. The guy on the reception on 22nd April morning then took us to a restaurant nearby and was trying to set up a massage service with a different guy(who apparently had his own massage business). Tip- if you say to customers that you are going to offer a discount then stay firm on the word, we are tourists and scamming like this gives you a...
