Check in process was very smooth. The first half an hour was really a nightmare for us. The room is too small for the whole family with unfunction water heater. The staff did mentioned that the hotel is currently in the midst of renovation, but that is not our problem. If you are not ready, please do not accept any booking at the first place. ||We did request to check out on the same day due to the problem, but they threaten to charge my credit card and at the same time offer us to a bigger room with some extra fee. The room is much better, but still we have to climb 2 stairs in and out everyday||If you are a backpackers this will definitely a good hotel for you. But, if you are travelling with kids, this hotel might be a bad choice for you. No lift, water heater not functioning well, noisy during night and they only clean your room once every 2 days. ||Spend sometime to look for another hotel which is more convenient to your family and kids. Istanbul is a great city with thousands of tourist in and out everyday, there are more similar price hotel better...
Read moreStayed in the 4-bed female only room and it was lovely. Comfortable beds with a shared toilet inside the room (not a common toilet for the whole floor!) and the toilet is cleaned daily. Simple Turkish breakfast with a good spread (true to photo seen!) on the fourth floor. Cozy place for breakfast or late night chilling area. The staff are friendly and helpful, with the manager giving me a map upon arrival. The location is the winning point honestly, within walking distance to the famous attractions and transport options (Sultanahmet station 1 min away and the ferry docks 10-15 mins walk). I enjoyed my stay a lot! ||||Some cons, though they weren't really an issue for me: thin walls, narrow stairs so I really don't recommend it for travellers with luggages larger than cabin sized or for travellers with many bags (also, the room may be too small to accommodate them!), slightly poor ventilation so clothes can't...
Read moreLove this place. I arrived at 5am and i know it’s very early to check in. I was welcomed and the receptionist guy let me wait in the breakfast area. After an hour the owner/partner came, offered me a cup of tea and cake. He then said he’ll check the room if it’s ready and i can check in. Breakfast is good and hearty. Staffs are all smiling and friendly. Also there’s a water dispenser with free water which is quiet seldom in hotels. Place is clean. I stayed in a female dormitory room with in suite bathroom and toilet. And they clean it everyday including the room which is also not common in dorm rooms. Pretty close to major spots, 5min walk to Hagia Sophia and blue mosque, 10 mins walk to grand and spice bazaar. Supermarkets literally in front of the hotel. Wish i knew this place couple of weeks back when I arrived...
