If you’ve booked this hotel, I apologize; you’ve fallen for a scam. I’d highly suggest getting a refund as soon as possible if available.
I’ll start with the sole positive: the proximity of the hotel was convenient to the historic district. The staff was kind; they tried very hard to provide a luxurious experience that the rest of the property couldn’t offer. If you’re merely looking for closeness and customer service, however, there are far cheaper options that you can choose.
Now, onto the negatives: when entering the hotel, it was more akin to the Circus Circus than the Ritz Carlton (the latter I recommend if you’re looking for everything this hotel promises to be for only a hundred more). The wallpaper was peeling off, there were strange stains on the carpeting, and the *shower drain was constantly flooding itself, all pictured below. Every footstep and loud noise is heard through the thin walls of the property, as seen in my video, so unless you’re on the top floor, expect to be going to bed at midnight and waking up at eight due to other visitors. There is a second property as well, which is used in advertising for this hotel. It is a tower closer to the sights of the historic district in which the palace offers an electric car to get there; otherwise, it’s a ten-minute walk. The driver is often conveniently unavailable if you don’t plan on eating at their overpriced, bland restaurant. If you solely want to go there to see the view, you are able to ascend their terrace for free to feed the seagulls and take photos. There are also photos offered here, which are not part of the hotel experience, that I would not honestly recommend over the cheapest package available if you really want to do it. As though the view and costumes are beautiful, the photographer made minimal effort and even sent photos of other people in the transfer of files to us, which is incredibly unprofessional. The thing this hotel does best is its marketing.
You’ll find this frequently in Turkish reviews, TripAdvisor, and even the Michelin review — I am in amazement at how establishments are able to scam upon this scale. Frankly, if you are in my position, I’d recommend vacationing...
Read moreBefore I start with the reasons for this review, I should mention that the staff and manager’s attitude was very kind and welcoming. Specially the breakfast staff were very nice.
Here are the reasons for my review :
1- We hear the upper neighbors walking. The chandelier is shaking when they walk !!! We initially thought it was an earthquake !!! Last night the upper neighbors had to leave early so we were woken up by their steps at 6am… Can’t sleep when the chandeliers are dancing over my head.
2- All night we were hearing a very annoying background noise from the building’s air conditioner outside our room. (number 1106)
3- Wi-Fi was very slow inside the room !!! See Speedtest in recently added photos.
4- The windows are not soundproof and are not secured. Impossible to lock from inside… We were hearing the music coming from their restaurant.
5- All the Mansion rooms are old. Some are with old moquettes. Some like ours had a very bad view of another close building and a utility structure. See photos I have added to this page.
Next day the reservation manager proposed to change our room to a very beautiful king room with sea view. But we refused to change as we didn’t want a free upgrade. What we paid for, Premium Mansion Room, should have been satisfactory but it was not.
We think the Mansion part (premium part) of the hotel is too old (wooden ceiling, noise, etc.)
We believe the first reception person who attributed us this room knew the issues with the noise, old structure etc. but even though the hotel was half empty he attributed us one of the bad rooms. Not too wise. We should have chosen a standard room, but we paid +40% to choose a Premium Mansion room and suffered...
Read moreThe good reviews about this hotel helped me choose the SevenHillsPalaceHotel. It was a good decision. Stayed in the suite, spacious rooms with large bathrooms. No mould or smells as previously mentioned. The windows could be opened, air conditioning worked great.
The buffet breakfast was OK, wouldn't say it was great. Lemonade was yummy. The food served at the restaurant on the terrace was superb. We ate there a few times and it was always great. Lamb soup is highly recommended.
Location was within walking distance to several historical monuments. However, it's worth noting that the walk can be up and down hill which may not be what you expect when considering "within walking distance".
The staff is the best asset to this hotel. They were all very pleasant and helpful. Ayhan had been helpful right from the beginning, quick email responses when I was trying to book for a group of ten. Ayhan and Erhan were both very helpful advising us about booking tickets and trips. Thanks to Tuba for making breakfast special. Another lady who topped up the food at breakfast was very helpful advising about ingredients and special requirements. Sorry I did not get your name. Jameela and all the staff at the terrace restaurant were very attentive and friendly. Yusuf was very helpful with the luggage and taxis, was soaking wet taking our luggage out when it was raining heavily at checkout time. Thanks to all of you for making our...
