The hotel had holes in the walls and dusty. Our room didn’t feel safe and secure at all as windows would open wide enough for people to jump in and we was on the ground floor we tried to book another hotel but everything was fully booked and asked for another room but they was also fully booked, The French doors were locked but not secure at all as you can easily pull and push it creating a gap, we noticed our windows had no metal bars like other rooms which caused us not to sleep at night feel anyone can come in and you can hear creaking of doors at night. Our second morning sleep was interrupted (considering we barely slept at night? by someone drilling and when mentioned to the hotel they acted like they never heard anything even though it was extremely load! The reception guy was very unwelcoming and annoyed at being asked question. The bed was rock hard and cause us back pain and sheets had stains and when we told them they said that’s didn’t come. Our after washing the room smelled, there was a hole in the ceiling above the bed with a pipe running down you can hear the water trickling down above your head. The reception guy confronted us and asked why didn’t complain to him but we didn’t feel comfortable speaking to him about it and when we did he brushed it off and said the holes in the wall was for ventilation and didn’t take us serious at all.

On demandait simplement à dormir à plusieurs répétitions..

This hotel looks far better in the picture than when in person. Firstly, don’t expect air conditioning as there is only a fan….evenings are cooler but you’d expect more from your hotel than just a fan. Great location as it’s on the heart of the main small town. Staff can be hit and miss as some were very helpful where others look at you giving evil looks. The room I was located was very cramped, you couldn’t swing a cat in it - talking of cats, expect lots of meows to keep you awake at night, especially if your room is located on the ground level. Decor is outdated and the bathroom could do with a little modernisation. Decent value for money but more cons than pros.

We booked Goreme Cave Rooms because of the good reviews on Airbnb and thought we would have a pleasant stay, but we had the worst experiences here.

We booked three separate rooms for our family. On the first night, March 12, my daughter and son-in-law stayed at room 102 which had two single beds. She woke up the next morning with bed bug bites all over her arms, neck, upper torso, and ankles. We informed the receptionist and asked to change rooms. The receptionist called another guy who also worked at the hotel to come speak with us. When this guy arrived (unfortunately we didn’t get his name) we showed him my daughter’s bites on the arm and he got all defensive, saying these weren’t bed bug bites, they were allergies, they already had an incident of bed bugs so he knew what those looked like, etc. etc. Basically he implied that we were lying! My daughter isn’t even allergic to anything. And if he saw all the bites on the body, no doubt they were made by bed bugs. He kept arguing with us, raising his voice, while we were only requesting for a room change! What kind of customer service is that?

They finally relented and transferred my daughter to room 101. We didn’t have any more incidents of bed bugs, but it was clear the rooms we stayed in were poorly maintained. In room 101 the shower was rusted, water was leaking outside, the faucet head would suddenly fall off when being used, and towel rack was nonexistent (there were holes where the rack used to be). In room 104 where my husband and I stayed was pretty much the same, the faucet and towel rack would fall off. My son stayed at room 202, no towel rack, toilet flush has no cover, shower head is loose. We didn’t complain anymore because we didn’t want to keep arguing with them.

The rooms have very thin walls, you can hear people going up and down the stairs, running and talking along the hallway. My son could hear chairs moving past midnight from the 3rd floor (dinning area). We could also hear water flowing from the water pipes in the ceiling of the toilet.

The only positive thing I can say about Goreme Cave Rooms is its good...

We stayed for 2 nights and it was a pretty nice experience. People at the front desk was very nice and breakfast was pretty good. Rooms were clean and the rooftop was nice to see the hot air balloons in the morning. ||Only con is the green tour we booked (€50 p.p but we got it down to €45 p.p) What they advertise was different from what was sold to us and what we actually went on. Tour guide was decent but taking you to an “Oxyn” factory was indeed just a damn jewelry store. They claim there’s a factory in the back but never showed us. Hated that bc it was just a bunch of people trying to sell us things. Pigeon valley was just a view point , you don’t even drive into the valley. Tour included underground cities, we assumed it was Derinkuyu but nope, guide claimed that they’re all the same and once you see one, you see them all so we went to Maza and I wouldn’t even call it an underground city. We came for the full experience of the big underground city and were jipped. Lunch was below average, the people there just wanted us in and out. Served salad that was half bad and soup that was heavily over-salted. Next we did a hike in Ihlara valley, was taken no where scenic, just to the first cafe there was. ||TLDR: just book a car and do these things yourself. The tour is definitely not worth the price. If you are going to book a tour, make sure to get a...
