So, I booked trough Booking but...
So, I arrived and she was huffing and I asked her why, that I don't ask for smiles (even though I worked in many hotels many years ago and I know what it's like) but I don't ask for smiles in my face all the time either. Then she asked me to pay, I said ok, by card. Meanwhile I asked her why she snorts and she got even more angry and then she said I'm the one who has problems. I told her no. Then as I was about to take out my card, and she also asked me for my passport, as I was about to take out my passport, she said to me "the card, the card" but I told her, one thing at a time and she replied, why not two. Then she said that she is the owner of the hotel and I told her that she may be the mayor, I don't understand why she had to snort at me. Finally she told me to go to the restaurant and wait someone will come with the POS and I will be able to pay. But of course I didn't believe her, why I should wait at the restaurant for this?! So I called Booking (lucky that I minutes) and after 3 calls I could cancelled for free. But in total I was waiting for 1.40h!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So she was thinking to let me wait until I would leave and lose the money of the reservation. This woman is unbelievable. Finally (because she didn't answer Booking for more than 30 mins since they tried the first time, I could cancelled for free. But really, I hope nobody would have such an experience anymore. Look even how she answered to another reviewer. She told him he has mental problems hahaha OMG
Update: Now she answered and she even lied 😳😂 OMG, first, I didn't have "fake cards", second, I didn't shout to anyone and third, I'm impressed how such a person can manage a hotel. I mean, let's be honest, if she was right, Booking would never cancel for free my reservation and give me another hotel. Keep in mind, if you will go there, probably you will regret it. Ah yeah, she said it is my first trip hahaha I have been in 4-5 continents and in 50+...
Read moreWe had a really great time in the city for about 4 days, the blue sea garden was a really nice place, the shower was great, nice bed good views and awesome location near lots of higher end , classy establishments, the swimming pool was perfect, clean and great temperature (however we were there on the hottest day in 95 years i was told, wild fires breaking out in the wilderness, we had some chocolate birds that melted in the room lol, the city has some issues with electricity, roaming blackouts pretty much every where we went. So had some electricity issues and some internet issues pretty much every day with WiFi shutting down in the evening, lucky we had our own internet service so keep that in mind. The restaurant was really nice with live local turkish music every night and a very romantic environment with olive, lime, and pomegranate trees all around us. The staff was friendly and fun, when we first checked in we didnt have any towles and when we told the manager after dinner he playfully told us yes there are and went to the room with us to show us he had snuck in and gotten us towles before we had asked (magic) lol funny guy. I would recommend this place for sure unless you need to sleep early and struggle with noise, the street is very busy and loud until around 1 am, which didnt bother us. The gave us free bottled water and a nice discount on drinks and food while we were there. You cant drink the tap water there so that was a huge plus im my view. Thank you to the staff, the owner and the wild dog they keep lol .. keep up the good work guys and make sure to get some rest on your days off , hard working crew there...
Read moreI had low expectations given the price but it still fell short.
The pros are the location - right in the centre of the old town, and the cleanliness - the whole hotel is spotless.
Unfortunately the room had no window (!) and as such was extremely dark and dingy. The beds were comfortable enough although only one pillow was provided. The bathroom was damp as it had no extractor fan and the ceiling was also so low that I couldn’t properly stand up.
The breakfast was inedible as it was sitting in direct 37 degree sun all morning unrefrigerated. The food was covered in flies. The coffee was at least half decent.
At night the room was loud with music from the restaurant which brings me onto the real main issue with the place - it is much more of a restaurant with rooms than an actual hotel. There is no service whatsoever - no staff to be seen for hotel guests at all, no housekeeping, no check in, no check out, no one to speak to if something went wrong.
The main focus is on selling food and drinks to people not staying at the hotel - we were told not to swim in the pool during lunchtime as it may bother non hotel guests eating!
Overall I cannot recommend this place.
Edit: this review was three years ago and they've just gotten round to replying, and told me not to come back. Don't worry, I...
