Everything needed to improve. I requested a particular room, not even a reply. We were greeted by the owner? and told that if we wanted breakfast it had to be at 8.30am along with every other guest as her caterer was doing food for the cricket, first hotel ever to have insisted on one set time for breakfast. We did not attend breakfast as a result. Up two flights of stairs to the room which was pokey and extremely poorly decorated. The shower room was very poor, see the picture of the shower tray which I caught my toe on, very dangerous. There were cigarette butt ends on the outside window ledge proving that smokers had stayed here. Meagre supply of tea and coffee with instructions that if we used them we could "buy" more at reception. Terrible! I brought my mini fan as it was very hot that night and no aircon.. not one single plug socket by the bed so I could not use my fan. To sum up I have to say that without doubt this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and I would advise any traveller to avoid this at all costs. The "only" thing in its favour was the view but that comes no where close to justifying the £90 per room tag. I have tried a few times to give these type of seaside hotels a go to support local business's but I regret to say that all of them have been to the same shabby quality. Premier Inn from now on as my minimum hotel standard. Get what you pay for? definitely not at the...
Read moreThis hotel is located in such a great area. If you go out left and keep walking a short distance your in the town centre, turn right and your on your way to the beach and go straight to Peaseholme park area. The room was small, needed a little bit of updating, but very comfortable. We noticed people put poor reviews on about the shower. The step up is quite high, but this stops the water getting out, and there is a handle to hold onto to get in and out. I use crutches and find some things difficult, like big step ups, but I managed fine. The only problem for us personally was we were a bit warm, but we could of asked if they had a fan. The view from the room was perfect. Going to sleep and waking up looking at the sea was great. We even left the curtains open so we could see the sun come up and go down. We didn't dine in the hotel so we can't comment about this topic. We needed assistance twice and they were there in seconds both times and dealt with the issue perfectly. We would definitely stay here again, as long as we had a room with sea view. If you want to be in the centre of everything and want a nice comfortable and homely room this is the...
Read moreWe travelled with Mystic Isle on their coach tour, so good as always despite some limitations. We were very pleased with the Boston Hotel although the steep flight of stairs to the entrance was rather daunting, especially to those who were not quite as nimble as others. However, our room on the first floor, which could be reached by lift, was excellent with a superb sea view. We were given enough fluffy bath and hand towels and necessary toiletries to last our stay. Coffee and tea was plentiful with the note if we needed more just ask at reception. Food was very good and varied and I must say compliments to the chef who gave us the best poached eggs ever, better than my own, a Michelin chef could not have done better. Overall I would say our stay at the Boston Hotel was very good and we so...
