Booked in on a very busy Saturday night for 6pm but we decided we would like to eat later at 8pm, the restaurant was only too happy to change our booking without complaint. On arrival we were welcomed and shown to our window seat with a lovely view of the bay, handed a small but very detailed and varied menu with starters and mains. After our drinks request were taken we were asked if we had any special dietary requirements or allergies and also made aware of the specials and dishes no longer available and alternatives. My teenage son chose the gourmet burger and I chose the loin of pork. The burger was juicy and tasty and certainly lived up to all expectations and then some, the loin of pork dish I had was melt in the mouth with an accompanying sauce that was most definitely worth another visit. The menu itself offered several fish and seafood dishes as expected at the coast along side duck, chicken and beef dishes. Most definitely something for everybody. A separate children's menu was available offering all the favourites from bangers and mash , fish fingers and chicken nuggets. Wine and...
Read moreLast minute visit here on Father’s Day.The restaurant was so accommodating when we called at 4.15 to enquire what time they served until- we were advise 5pm and a table booked for us. The welcome we received was lovely, the barman in particular was very attentive and explained the different wines available. The food was out of this world- the meat melted in your mouth , the mashed potato with hints of truffle running through was insane, the carrots and other veg delicious and the Yorkshire puddings were huge and cooked to perfection and presentation immaculate. We managed to squeeze in a desert board too , as we just couldn’t resist- this again, was exceptional - chocolate mousse soft and silky, lemon posset smooth and with just the right amount of tang, strawberry cheeecake, warm peach with lovely ice cream and chocolate brownie drizzled with chocolate sauce. To say we were the last table to be served, we weren’t rushed at all and the waitress was lovely, friendly and chatty. Absolutely cracking spot, with beautiful views, we loved it so much we have booked their Tapas...
Read moreWe went there on a quiet Wednesday evening. The menu was simple but the food was exceptional considering the price. We ordered lamb and catch of the day, both were full of exquisite flavours and beautifully presented. The portion was not as huge as we saw in other restaurants in Yorkshire during our trip, but it’s just the right size as part of a three course meal. There was no kids menu, so we ordered lamb a full main dish for our two young children to share - what a treat for them, much better than the usual pizza or chicken nuggets. Then we tried the homemade cheesecake and were impressed again. You could taste real cheese and fruit in it! The staff were lovely, too, very friendly and kind to our two little messy eaters. The decor of the restaurant seemed a little dated though. We didn’t mind at all because it had a rustic feel and the sea view was amazing. Highly recommend this restaurant. It is not in the busy touristy areas, so very relaxed...
