I booked a room for my family and myself for one night stay at over £165 for the night. ||We arrived at 2pm which was the check in time after a long 6 and half hour journey. ||After waiting 20 mins to be attended to, the receptionist firstly could not find my booking, then eventually, once found stated our room was not ready and could we wait at least half an hour.||After explaining how long we had travelled for I said that was unacceptable, as we had arrived on time.||The manager Sreenath firstly said he could not do anything as the room was not ready.||He eventually said I will give you a studio room which was an upgrade but will still take time to get ready.||Having waited another 15 mins we eventually was given a room, which was definitely not an upgrade, but basically the room I had originally booked.||The room was not very clean had stains on the linen and generally smelt of cooking.||I wasn’t impressed and made my feelings known.||The manager and staff were not interested in my concerns and basically wanted me to go away as they had many other customers queuing up with more complaints to deal with!!||When everything was eventually sorted, I mentioned I have parked my car here. To be told that will be £15 a night to park. I immediately refused as this wasn’t made clear on the booking.||The response I got was it was nothing to do with the hotel and is run by a third party.||Obviously another money making scheme, that forced guests to pay as they felt they had no choice.||I made the choice to leave immediately, after being abused by the manager for sticking up for my principles and for sticking up for another couple ||who’s English was limited and were trying to resolve their own complaint.||After I mentioned I will be leaving a bad review on trip advisor I was then told they can discount the parking!!!! All that after arguing with me that the parking fee was nothing to do with them!!||So we ended up leaving immediately after nearly seven hours journey feeling so upset and angry having looked forward to a nice two days in bournemouth which ended up lasting...
Read moreOne of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had; you can bet I'll never return. Rude, arrogant, and unhelpful staff, as well as rooms in deplorable condition We had originally booked a family studio room for the 13th/14th of August for one night; however, when we arrived at the hotel and were shown to our room, we were immediately hit in the face with the smell of damp, which was very strong; additionally, there were no windows at all, and overall, it was not the picture we were shown when booking the hotel!! One of our group members has severe asthma, and when she mentioned that she couldn't stay somewhere with no ventilation and damp, she was rudely told that it wasn't their problem. I did step into the room briefly before leaving because I couldn't stand the smell, and I noticed we had received the wrong number of beds than we had been promised. We returned to the hotel reception and were told there was nothing wrong with the room, despite the fact that we had clearly been deceived!!!! After being told there was nothing they could do by an Indian staff member who was very rude, we were helped by another staff member, Alex, who told us there were three separate rooms we could be given at a different hotel, two double rooms and one single room, which we accepted out of desperation. The hotel was called Palm Beach Hotel, and when we arrived, it was no different than the first, but the smell of damp was significantly less, but the smell of insect repellant was there too, which we accepted because there was no hotel nearby that night with accomodation. The double rooms were slightly better, but the single room had a tree growing out of the air vent, was very damp behind the bed, the table was mouldy, the kettle was mouldy, and all of the carpets were...
Read moreWe missed our Ferry to Jersey by 10 minutes! Panic struck, we rebooked for the next day which cost us greatly so all we needed was a place that was clean and tidy with parking and allowed a small dog. ||||Clever me I struck gold on Booking.com I thought, close to Bournemouth beach front, parking allowed dogs, perfect. We arrived in a timely fashion, the Receptionist was ready to greet us, took a copy of my photo ID.. Only £ 15 to park our car on their Car Park? And £20 for the Dog? £86 + £15 + £20 = expensive. The Manager was called he would not refund our booking, but agreed to just charge us £10 to park the Car, great. He showed us to the " room" close to Reception room 2 ( probably the Dog room) He explained the switch on the shower was damaged...I was past it by then||||Whilst my Husband reparked the Car I asked the Receptionist to come and see the rooms carpet which was covered in hair and toe nails! She said she needed to speak to her Manager first...she then sent a cleaner reluctantly. I asked where the top sheet was on the double bed, she said it was a duvet the bed cover?? We slept on top of the beds that night drank tea and left. We did not dare try to use the shower as the side of the bath was taped up and the window moldy. We tried to use the toilet for a wee before we left in the morning and someone else's poo came up the loo towards me- eek!||||All in all, great location, terrible place to stay. It appears to be run as Bed sits by the people who were there...
