My wife and I decided on a last minute visit to the Lake District and decided to book this boutique style B&B after reading favourable reviews. We were not disappointed. Check-in was seamless with a warm welcome. All guests are offered complimentary tea and cake served in the lounge during the afternoon. This was much needed after a 2 hour drive and saved us venturing out to a coffee shop. We stayed in room 3 which had a modern en-suite with a cosy bedroom atmosphere and comfortable king size bed. Wi-fi signal in the bedroom was satisfactory. The hotel is located down a quiet lane with a decent sized car park for several vehicles. It is a 5 minute walk into Windermere village where you can find local shops, coffeeshops and restaurants. There is more choice in Bowness which is only a 25 minute walk or 5 minute drive. There is a choice of continental breakfast or the usual full english breakfast. I believe the ingredients are all sourced locally. Excellent breakfast to start a full day of exploring. I am sure you can find both cheaper and more expensive places to stay when visiting Windermere but if you want a premium stay in a safe and convenient location with a warm & cosy atmosphere then I would recommend the Hideaway...
Read moreReally lovely, stayed here for one night and it was great. We arrived and was greeted by Richard who was absolutely lovely, once checked in he handed us some complimentary carrot cake. I think I read that there is a new cake per day to try which is a nice touch! The car park was great and had plenty of spaces in regards to the amount of rooms. Once we reached the room everything was clean and tidy with nothing to complain about. They clearly pride themselves on standards.
On site there is a lounge room downstairs which any guests can use and it’s massive and looks like a great room to chill out in. We didn’t use it this time but it is good to know for the future if we were to visit with friends.
For breakfast they asked us what time we would like to come down in 15 minute intervals (not meaning eat in 15 minutes). For example we chose 8:45 so they were expecting that we’d be coming down to eat at that time. We were served by I think his name was John who was lovely. We picked items from the cold breakfast menu and then had a hot breakfast and toast aswell. The portion sizes were a great size I just couldn’t finish all mine! I would also add I’m vegetarian and they had plenty of options to...
Read moreWhat a lovely little gem!||We booked this B&B 48 hours before arriving as we just needed to get away. We didn’t realise a storm was on the way … what should have taken 2 1/2 hours, took us just under 5!!!||We kept Lisa and Richard informed of our (very) late arrival due to the horrific storm Amy we were travelling in via WhatsApp as the reception isn’t manned from 5pm. Upon arrival there was plenty of parking and we were met by Richard and a lovely slice of Victoria sponge 😊||Room was very clean, as was the rest of the property, and very comfy, with plenty of complimentary teas, coffee and hot chocolate. We took a short walk (despite the storm) into the town and had the best pizza in the Italian restaurant. A blustery walk back (which was great when the wind was behind us!) and had one of the best nights sleep I’ve had in ages!||Saturday morning breakfast was amazing, food cooked to order, plenty of it, piping hot and the service was first class. Off out for the day with a complimentary slice of lemon drizzle cake, a full tummy and completely stress free.||Overall the best last minute getaway we’ve had in ages and will definitely be...
