My wife and I decided on a last minute visit to the Lake District and decided to book this boutique style B&B after reading favourable reviews. We were not disappointed. Check-in was seamless with a warm welcome. All guests are offered complimentary tea and cake served in the lounge during the afternoon. This was much needed after a 2 hour drive and saved us venturing out to a coffee shop. We stayed in room 3 which had a modern en-suite with a cosy bedroom atmosphere and comfortable king size bed. Wi-fi signal in the bedroom was satisfactory. The hotel is located down a quiet lane with a decent sized car park for several vehicles. It is a 5 minute walk into Windermere village where you can find local shops, coffeeshops and restaurants. There is more choice in Bowness which is only a 25 minute walk or 5 minute drive. There is a choice of continental breakfast or the usual full english breakfast. I believe the ingredients are all sourced locally. Excellent breakfast to start a full day of exploring. I am sure you can find both cheaper and more expensive places to stay when visiting Windermere but if you want a premium stay in a safe and convenient location with a warm & cosy atmosphere then I would recommend the Hideaway...

Really lovely, stayed here for one night and it was great. We arrived and was greeted by Richard who was absolutely lovely, once checked in he handed us some complimentary carrot cake. I think I read that there is a new cake per day to try which is a nice touch! The car park was great and had plenty of spaces in regards to the amount of rooms. Once we reached the room everything was clean and tidy with nothing to complain about. They clearly pride themselves on standards.

On site there is a lounge room downstairs which any guests can use and it’s massive and looks like a great room to chill out in. We didn’t use it this time but it is good to know for the future if we were to visit with friends.

For breakfast they asked us what time we would like to come down in 15 minute intervals (not meaning eat in 15 minutes). For example we chose 8:45 so they were expecting that we’d be coming down to eat at that time. We were served by I think his name was John who was lovely. We picked items from the cold breakfast menu and then had a hot breakfast and toast aswell. The portion sizes were a great size I just couldn’t finish all mine! I would also add I’m vegetarian and they had plenty of options to...

What a lovely little gem!||We booked this B&B 48 hours before arriving as we just needed to get away. We didn’t realise a storm was on the way … what should have taken 2 1/2 hours, took us just under 5!!!||We kept Lisa and Richard informed of our (very) late arrival due to the horrific storm Amy we were travelling in via WhatsApp as the reception isn’t manned from 5pm. Upon arrival there was plenty of parking and we were met by Richard and a lovely slice of Victoria sponge 😊||Room was very clean, as was the rest of the property, and very comfy, with plenty of complimentary teas, coffee and hot chocolate. We took a short walk (despite the storm) into the town and had the best pizza in the Italian restaurant. A blustery walk back (which was great when the wind was behind us!) and had one of the best nights sleep I’ve had in ages!||Saturday morning breakfast was amazing, food cooked to order, plenty of it, piping hot and the service was first class. Off out for the day with a complimentary slice of lemon drizzle cake, a full tummy and completely stress free.||Overall the best last minute getaway we’ve had in ages and will definitely be...

Very clean and quiet place. The room cleanliness is immaculate. Not a speck of dust in the whole of the building. There is no noise coming from outside because there are no main roads outside. We’ve slept with an open window all night, and all we could hear were birds. We couldn’t ask for a better breakfast. Full English breakfast cooked to perfection. There were plenty of other options such as cereals, fruits, yogurt, breakfast baps, etc. The cherry on the top is a slice of cake that you’re given everyday. Stuff was lovely, helpful, and all around wonderful. They are very accommodating and nothing seems to be a bother to them. The location is very convenient, 5min from Windermere center and 25min walk to Bowness. We will definitely come back.

A good and highly informative welcome upon arrival. The hotel/B&B is ideally located for access to Windermere town centre and only a two mile stroll to Bowness for more restaurants, bars and access to lake steamers etc. Alternatively there’s a taxi service which will take you along in five minutes. The hotel had the foresight to supply a card from the taxi company on arrival, Very caring and professional I thought. The house itself is well appointed and the rooms very tastefully done to high standards. Loved the “complementary tea and cake” ritual daily 2:30 to 5pm. There is easy access and ample secluded parking on site. I can’t fault this hotel or staff and I’d highly recommend it.

Myself and my husband have been coming to this lovely place a few times now. It's just the most amazing place, Richard and staff are so kind and make sure you have just the best stay. Rooms are lovely and so is breakfast! Added bonus is that you also get freshly baked cake every day! They have a lovely outdoor seating area with a couple of tables and chairs, really nice to sit out there with a drink if the weather is nice. The Hideaway is in a really nice quiet location as well, a 7 minute stroll into Windermere where there is a co op and a few places to eat. Then a further 15 minutes or so walk into Bowness where there are loads of places to eat and drink as well as shops.
