🍔☀️🍹 𝕍𝕖𝕘𝕘𝕚𝕖 ℙ𝕦𝕓 𝔾𝕣𝕦𝕓 & 𝕃𝕠𝕧𝕖𝕝𝕪 𝕊𝕦𝕟 𝕋𝕖𝕣𝕣𝕒𝕔𝕖 𝕚𝕟 𝕥𝕙𝕖 ℂ𝕚𝕥𝕪 ℂ𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕣𝕖 🍺🔆🥨 AD | PR Invite ⚜ Now that the sun has finally made an appearance, beer gardens and a cold brew is definitely the vibe we are going for. We had heard so many great things about this City Centre Pub with a hidden sun terrace, owned by The Beautiful Pubs Collective who owns several Leicestershire faves, so had to go and check it out after it's new refurb! 🗓 Mon-Thurs 12-10pm, Fri/Sat 12pm-12am, Sun 12-6pm 🚘 Closest Car Park Highcross / John Lewis 💰 £5-15 🌱 Veggie ✅ Vegan ✅ Halal ❔ 🌾 Allergens to be discussed ♿ Accessible entry    🍽 Rutland & Derby 🍴 Pub 📍 21 Millstone Lane, Leicester, LE1 5JN We Ate 🍴𝙎𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙯𝙚𝙡 cheese sauce, gherkin 🍴𝘽𝙪𝙛𝙛𝙖𝙡𝙤 𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙙 𝙑𝙚𝙜𝙖𝙣 𝙒𝙞𝙣𝙜 clawson stilton mayo (VE Mayo available) 🍴𝙈𝙖𝙠𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙞 𝙁𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨 crispy paneer, makhani sauce, pickled red onions, mint yoghurt & coriander  🍴𝙎𝙚𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙁𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙑𝙚𝙜𝙖𝙣 𝘽𝙪𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙧 gochujang and hot honey sauce, ranch slaw We Drank 🍹 Cherry Zombie Cocktail 🍓 Strawberry Bramble Mocktail 🍑 Peach & Passionfruit Punch Mocktail 🍺 @oldmoutcideruk Berries & Cherries (non-alc) 💜 We couldn't believe we hadn't popped into this spot before. The interiors are giving classic pub, but we LOVED the bright pop of colour the ceiling and lighting adds. The sun terrace is also really lovely and can see us coming to enjoy this as the weather continues to improve. We also really LOVED that over 90% of the menu is Veggie/Vegan adaptable. So much choice. And fantastic that there is a range of more snacky items in addition to the more substantial dishes.  The vegan wings are closest to chicken wings I've ever had. And the burger definitely stole the show! Although TBF we enjoyed all the dishes we tried! Meera was impressed there were non-alc cider options and the range of cocktails and mocktails is also great with some inventive sounding beverages to try 👀 Needless to say, we will be popping back to this one soon! Thanks so much to the team who looked after us and @coolasleicester for the invite 🙏🏾 #rutlandandderby #saltedpretzel #buffalowings #makhani #loadedfries #veganfood #veganburger #veganfriendly #cocktails #mocktails #sunterrace #beergarden #citypub #britishpub #pubfood #bar #supportlocal #eatlocal #thisisleicester #leicester #visitleicester #leicesterfood #leicesterfoodguide #leicesterrestaurants #leicesterfoodscene #eatleicester #independentleicester #supportleicesterlocal #tastetheplace

Visited last night (post refurbishment) as part of the now iconic Oyster and Stout St Patrick’s Day celebration’s. If I had to sum this pub up in one word, it would be SUBLIME! The new look (and feel) R&D has really set itself apart, from other city centre based pubs- it wouldn’t look out of place in Chelsea (but thankfully you won’t paying London food and drink prices)! Upon arrival we were met with a big smile and welcome (special thanks to El 😊). She was kind enough to show us around and tell us more about the refurbishment) Expect the same friendly, welcoming atmosphere, lovely selection of food and beers, just in rather fancier surroundings. Can’t wait to come back for another delicious pint of Camden stout!

Came here for the Sausage & Cider Festival. Place was busy with a lovely beer garden which included a roof terrace. Cider selection was really good and we tried several options. Staff were nice and manager was very helpful. Food itself was very nice but not worth the price, way overpriced for how much you get. Also another dog friendly venue.

I was really looking forward to this and it didn't disappoint. I was lucky enough to get the last portion of Brisket Poutine, we also ordered the Shroom poutine both were packed with flavour. The veal gravy, pancetta & little nuggets of red leicester with accompanying pickles and Parsley on the Brisket were a great Leicester take on the original creation of Poutine in Quebec. The Paris brown shrooms were cooked to perfection and the Cep gravy had that woodland smokey umami flavour I would expect. The accompanying marinated wild mushrooms & tarragon & shredded melting mozzarella completed another great vegetarian take on the classic Poutine.

We were greeted at the door and shown to our table in the courtyard where there are heaters & parasols incase of rain . It was good to see all staff wearing PPE & also customers wearing their masks when moving to their tables or to use the toilets. It is great to see Covid safety measures working properly something other leicester hospitality businesses could learn a lot from.

For Drinks we Ordered an Everards Sunchaser which for me was a perfect late afternoon/ early evening drink and although the sun was trying to shine on the courtyard rain clouds had other ideas. The Mojito brought back now distant memories of visits to the Balearics.

Tables are available on a first come first served basis & it really is worth queueing socially distanced to sample this outstanding new food concept from The Poutine Collective at The...

We called in here for dinner and drink’s over the weekend and were very pleased with our choice. The quality of the food being delivered to tables around us and the variety in their menu made it difficult to make a choice. However, the offer of the wings and ribs was too hard to pass up and I'm happy to say it was melt in your mouth delicious served with possibly the best chips I have ever had. My partner ordered some Poutine and everything was cooked to order and served hot and delivered with a smile from ear to ear. Our drinks were cold and delivered quickly, I ordered a Guinness that was poured to perfection so much so, we stayed late after our meal to enjoy the environment and some further drinks. A couple of chaps behind the bar Joe and Marseille were fantastic! Later in the evening I even managed to speak with the chef Sam! Although he didn’t reveal the trade secrets for the great food. Thanks for a great meal and wondaful evening this weekend. See...

I recently visited Rutland and Darby Leicester and, while I haven’t yet had the opportunity to sample the food, I was impressed by several aspects of the venue. The drinks selection is extensive, with a strong variety of beers on tap and a wine menu that appears well-curated.

At the time of my visit, the pub was pleasantly quiet, which allowed for a relaxed experience. The beer garden is a particular highlight—spacious and well-maintained, it’s clearly ideal for socialising in finer weather.

The interior is stylish and thoughtfully laid out, although the green of the bar and a section of the ceiling might not be to everyone’s taste—though that’s entirely subjective.

The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout. A special mention to Codie, who encouraged me to share this review.

I look forward to returning to try the food in future and would certainly recommend Darby and Ruth as a spot for drinks and conversation...
