We were recently lucky enough to have our wedding reception at the Knight & Garter. From beginning to end it was an incredible experience. The management team, especially Beth, were so organised & understanding in the planning process, they remained in constant communication & sorted every finer detail for us. On the day, we couldn’t have asked for better. The bar staff were so incredibly friendly & efficient even as our wedding party flooded the bar when we arrived! The reception meal was absolutely perfect, from incredibly delicious food (as always from K&G), to impeccable service to all the small details.

Later in the evening we moved down to the Gallery Bar for a drinks reception and it was a fantastic evening for everyone. We had 40 guests and the space was perfect. Tables for people to sit down if they wished, and plenty of room for dancing. We want to give a special shout out to the bar staff from the gallery bar because they were amazing and even joined in the fun in their own way.

We can’t thank the Knight & Garter enough for making our wedding day all the more beautiful and for looking after us & all of our guests. I know our family & friends will be talking about the salted caramel espresso martinis and the flawless bearnaise sauce for years to come.

As for myself and the groom, we will never forget the kindness of the staff and the way they ensured that we could relax and actually enjoy our wedding because we were in great hands.

We would recommend Knight & Garter to anyone looking for a place for any kind of special occasion. You’ll be well...

We’ve been a few times, but tonight, was baffling. We ordered 2 dry martinis (we often order them at the bar because they are so good..) and after a long wait, 2 drinks arrived which were plainly not what we asked for. Ok, fair dos..the bar was busy. In the meantime (after a waitress mistakenly appeared with 2 meals that we hadn’t ordered…!) our starters arrived, which were fantastic. Our wine turned up, followed by our martinis. All good. The food was lovely, as always, but after we’d been served our desserts a waitress turned up with the bill (which we hadn’t requested..!) saying she was going on break. I said we’d like coffee so she ripped up the bill. The coffee arrived, served by a young man who referred to me as “mate”. I’m 61. I like to be called “sir” in restaurants, as my own mates are people I’ve known for many years. Another waitress appeared and said: “oh, you’ve already paid, haven’t you?”. At this point I could very well have said “yes” (as we had no bill, no receipt, just an empty bill booklet…our bill came to £125). As I am by nature an honest man, I said no, we hadn’t paid. I decided against leaving a tip, because I deplore sloppy service. I realise it’s hard to find staff in these trying times, but please train your staff properly. Your food is absolutely wonderful, but, given that the restaurant was pretty quiet tonight, it was all a bit unsettling. I don’t know what was going on, but quite frankly, I don’t think we’ll be hurrying back. I suffer from anxiety so these kind of experiences are not...

First time dining at the Knight and Garter in Leicester, booked a table through Email with Bea who was so nice and very quick to respond!! We also let Bea know that we would be eating the Tomahawk Steaks, we turned up at the given time and were immediately seated by a lovely lady named Laura, our drink order was taken and refreshing cocktails delivered very fast accompanied by iced water for the table, Emily then came and asked if we wanted starters, given that we were eating Tomahawk we already decided that we didn't but Emily got a sale of Tomato and onion bread and olives for us to share, they were absolutely amazing olives and the best bread ever so thank you Emily, the steaks were cooked to absolute perfection,, we had the recommended cooking of medium rare, no blood on plate, rested very well and the best steak either of us had ever had! Beef dripping chips are also really very tasty! We are not having a holiday this year and decided to plough said holiday money into local businesses and I will definately be back here, worth every penny, lovely service, very clean cool environment!! Would very HIGHLY recommend! We dined as 3 with my 8 year old daughter who was very well catered for with a refreshing passionfruit mocktail and she was totally amazed by the bookshelf door!! Keep up the hard word what a lovely establishment we...

We popped into 'The Knight and Carter' yesterday (Sunday) and wow, what a blast from the past! This spot used to be my local Irish bar back in the 90s, so it’s amazing to see how Leicester has changed over the years. This place hit all the right note... great service, delicious food, and a lovely vibe. I was so happy with the meal; it looked gorgeous, tasted even better, and was super fresh. I’d gone for the roast beef dinner, but they’d run out (clearly a popular choice!), so they offered me steak instead for the same price. And let me tell you... it was melt in-my your mouth good! Thick, tender, perfectly pink slices of beef with incredible flavor. Honestly, I couldn’t have been happier. Before I forget a 'Big shoutout' to the staff... you were all fantastic! Sorry I didn’t catch any names, but you were so friendly and attentive. If you’re in Lesta, definitely check out 'The Knight and Carter' It’s a proper wee gem!
