I've been coming to this launderette for close to 3 years or so because it's close to home. I've had issues before with one of the workers there but kept going anyway because it was convenient. At some point however you can only take so many snotty remarks, horrible customer service, and attitude. Today I went in to pick up shirts which I take weekly and drop off more for this week and I asked the lady in charge (petite brunette, possibly eastern european, rude, always making snarky comments, and never smiles who seems to always be there) if she can please double check to see if there are any more shirts as my husband was missing a shirt. I explained to her that last time I came in to pick up one of the new workers there (An American young girl with blondish hair) handed me my shirts but also more shirts that had been there for months (over 6 months+). I was surprised as I'd been asking them a couple of times to please check if they had had given me all of my shirts and they kept saying yes. So knowing that this had happened once already and again I was missing another shirt. I asked the worker to please double check. She proceeds to tell me that it wold be impossible that they would lose one shirt and so on and that she wasn't going to check again for me. All with an additude and being very rude and I told her but it is possible as I just explained to her what had occurred months ago. And she kept saying impossible! And goes on a rant and was arguing with me and I was just fed up. I told her I'd take my business elsewhere and that there is no reason for her to dismiss me and that she shouldn't be arguing with customers. I will be letting everyone I know not to ever use this place. I have so many other stories about this same woman I can write longer but I wont. She needs to find another job as her being there is going to hurt the business. Stay away from this place...
Read moreWARNNG: THEY HAVE INCREASED THEIR PRICES!!
You used to have to pay £3 for 15 mins in order to start the dryer. On the highest heat setting, this was WAY more than enough to dry a LARGE load of laundry, and it always comes out hot!
But now you have to pay £5 for 25 mins to start the dryer! This is 10 mins more than what is needed, WASTING £2 per load.
There is Superwash nearby on Cornwall Crescent, that only charges £1 for 6 minutes, with NO minimum spend! So this is way cheaper! Their dryers are also very large and dry very quickly. I will definitely be going there instead.
At Central Wash I am so used to it costing £3, so it was too late when I already inserted the money in one dryer, pressed start and went on to the next dryer and did the same, later realising that the first dryer hadn't started yet because I had to insert another £2 now. Seeing as I'd already inserted money in the second dryer, I had to add another £2 to that as well to get it started. And I could not get that money back either!
I was told from now on to just take the load out of the dryer early, then put the next load in to use up the extra time (I don't see how they profit from doing that), or set it at a lower temperature so it takes longer to dry. All this is doing is making it take unnecessarily longer to get a customer's drying done.
Honestly, go somewhere else! I was told the other Central Wash locations are all the same price. You are being ripped off here by being forced to spend an extra £2 on an extra 10 mins...
Read moreThe company is half minute where l live and l am usually very happy with the service but within last year they have hired a wannabe Priyanka Chopra who thinks she is high maintenance actress and should be working on film screen instead of laundrette. Out of that dream not happening, she lacks any willingness to present basic polite customer service skills and is just plain selective rude. Today she jumped at me of drying after 6 o clock, yet at 6.30 she happily let other people dry their clothes after their wash. Note, business closes at 7. She creates the rules as she goes, or is recreating them according to customer by customer, (by her personal judgement of where she can execute her power play) because there is nowhere written that after 6 theres certain things you cannot do. The manner she communicates is just something you dont expect to happen in business environment. When she is on shft, people in my area who use that laundrette tend to skip their washing that day, because her vibe is just so unpleasant. We are community and bad customer service news spread, so if you dont want your business to have bad rep ( and loose money), have recorded concersation with her or fire...
